Vehicle Detail
Hi there! You are bidding on a 2007 BMW 328xi Wagon, with All-Wheel Drive, automatic transmission and only 79K miles! Please make sure you read the information below before bidding. Bid with confidence with my 20 years of eBay experience and 100% positive feedback rating. If you're willing to spend some time and energy to give it the TLC it needs, this is a chance to get an awesome, low mileage, All-Wheel Drive BMW wagon for a super low price with this No Reserve auction!! This vehicle was a salvage that had been mostly restored after a relatively minor front end collision. I bought it last year with the intention of finishing the process and having it as my daily driver. Despite a handful of known issues, it drove great for several months until I lost the key. While I tried to find a hack to get a new key and fob that didn't cost hundreds of dollars (I also thought the key would reappear at some point, since I did drive the car back to my house!), I must have left something on or open and the battery drained out. At some point I went to put a new battery in (which it needed anyway) and I miswired it and shorted something out. Finally I brought it to a dealer who made a new key for me (for $300!) only to tell me that the CAS, which apparently tells it to recognize the key, was fried. They wanted another $800 to replace that, without any guarantee that it would solve the problem. I saw that there are CAS modules available on eBay for $100-200, and that they can be reprogrammed if you have the right computer setup and know how. I planned on figuring out how to do this, but it's just been sitting in my garage, and between my 3-year-old twins and two pretty much full time jobs, I just don't see it happening. Honestly bummed, since I loved driving the thing, but I need to move on. So, at this point, my wife wants it out of the garage, and I suppose my loss is your gain. With only 79k original miles, this wagon would be a great deal for someone who is knowledgeable about these things or who has enough free time to figure it out. When I was driving it, the car drove great, engine ran perfectly, brakes are good (all new brake pads), and transmission shifted smoothly, although it may need an alignment and/or balancing since the ride got a little bit rough at high (over 60 mph) speeds. This BMW also has some awesome features like Comfort Access and dual panoramic moonroofs. Cosmetically this is in great shape for a 10 year-old vehicle, both inside and out, with the exception of some scratches (my fault!) on the rear bumper (see pics). The only remaining issues that I'm aware of (beyond the one mentioned above) is that it needs front driver's side and passenger side airbags. Fortunately for you, I already purchased these, so I will include them with the vehicle! In addition, the fog lights were never replaced, and the battery safety terminal was never replaced after it blew, (it's easily gerry-rigged, which is how it was when I got it). Considering that it is not currently recognizing the key, you will probably need to have this towed to wherever you are. As a courtesy to the winning bidder, I will bring the vehicle anywhere within 100 miles of Bennington, VT free of charge. If it needs to go farther than that, I'm happy to help arrange shipping. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Thanks for looking! Good luck!!
