Vehicle Detail
This is what I would call a survivor bike as it has not been restored, the paint and plastics are original and there are limited non-OEM parts on the bike. I purchased the bike from a gentleman that was riding it at an offroad park, so it had not led a pampered life, but was not abused and had been kept in running order. People label things differently, so here are the details. Mechanically, the bike starts on the second kick and idles for days. Personally, I think the carb could be adjusted, perhaps the needle clip, to improve the midrange performance. This was my assessment this afternoon, but it was also running on old gas. However, I have only ridden this bike for approximately an hour total. It has sat in my basement for three years. Given that, I am sure that it does not leak fluids (forks, gas or engine oil). The front and rear brakes work, the headlight (high and low) and taillight both work. The previous owner had installed rear axle carrier bearings and replaced the axle locknut. The lower case saver mount is broken as many are, but there is no other damage to the cases or shift shaft. The bike has the original rear sprocket with the riveted backing plate. The original fork boot clamps are still in place. The previous owner installed a new clutch cable. The parking brake is intact and works perfectly. Cosmetically, most importantly, the bike has all Honda OEM plastic that is crack free. The front fender is very nice with good shine. The headlight shroud is pretty amazing with a rub spot on the top corner from the brake line. The shrouds are very nice as is the tank. There are some scratches and a place from the handlebar bolts coming back on the tank shown in the photos. As this is an unrestored machine, the frame has paint wear, the original decals on the headlight and frame show wear as well. The previous owner replaced the rear number plates it appears. I replaced the shroud decals as well. The front fork boots are perfect. The seat has no damage and is as soft as it was new and is not a Chinese knock off cover, its the real deal. The rear fenders are the original embossed Honda fenders and have some scratches especially the lower portions that would hit things while riding. The scratches are mostly shallow and I believe these could be polished to a Very nice finish. There is nothing on any of the plastic in the photos, no polishing aids or shine enhancers. As shown, the swinger and frame paint is worn and the swinger decals are scratched typical of a machine that has been ridden. The full disclosure for those not fully studied on the Honda 250R's: The shock adjustment knob is missing, the handlebars, silencer and grab bar are not original. Overall, 99% of the hardware is OEM, the hard to find little pieces like the fork boot clamps, the brake line guide, the chain slider retaining plate are all present and the plastic is fantastic. Having described the bike to the best of my ability, if you would like to go over the bike specifically and discuss each area, please email me and I will give you a phone number to reach me. I have a few other pictures and can take some of specific areas if requested. I recently sold a "roller" bike, that was described as having the engine completely disassembled and being mostly complete but needing a full restoration. I listed the parts not present and needed to make the bike complete. The buyer left neutral feedback. I would like to avoid this in the future as I am not trying to misrepresent this bike. There are limitations to a buyer's attention span when reading an ad as well as my ability to cover each component. The bike is 33 years old and some wear should be expected as well as perhaps a needed renewing of mechanical components such as bearings, fluids etc. As such, I must sell this bike AS-IS. $500 deposit due within 24 hours. Full payment can be discussed pending pick-up or shipping arrangements, which are the responsibility of the buyer. I have a very flexible schedule at this time and can meet a shipper or the buyer whenever necessary with a bit of notice. This bike did not come with a title so I can provide a bill of sale or will sign any paperwork you would need for your state in order to obtain one. The VIN is clean and legible. On Aug-14-18 at 19:42:30 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: The bike will be sold with an OEM silencer rather than the one pictured.
