Vehicle Detail

1975 Pontiac Trans Am Please read the whole description before asking questions. I will try to make this a detailed description because I want to cover everything as honestly as possible. If you ask a question that is covered in detail in the description I will ignore it. A serious bidder will take the time to read the description thoroughly. If you need clarification on something in the description I will answer those questions. Don’t mean to start off negative but I have been on E-Bay many years and I have a 100% positive feedback. I do not have time for scammers and dreamers and would appreciate only people seriously interested, who have the money, bid on this car. That being said, I have what I feel is a very decent project car. This is a running and driving car but it has been sitting and not been driven more then 2 or 3 times since I bought it 7 years ago. You can drive it as is after putting fresh gas in or restore it to your liking. It has the 400 cubic inch engine but at this point do not know if it original to the car. Will determine that this weekend. At this point I would consider the engine to be non-numbers matching. When I bought the car the drive train was supposedly freshened up. I cannot guarantee this as I did not get any receipts from the previous owner but the engine and trans have fresh paint. The previous owner installed an aluminum intake but it is painted to match the engine. They also installed headers but in the process cut the heater box out. I have the original intake manifold, Exhaust manifold and distributor which are included in the auction. Also have replacement heater box and the air conditioning components if you want to put those back on. Based on the original parts and fresh paint on engine it seems likely that engine was and trans were out and worked on but once again no receipts or detailed info on how much was done to the engine internally. Engine does have a mild cam and for some reason a stall speed torque converter. From the feel of the engine at idle I don’t think a stall was needed but they put one in. I have the original torques converter also. All the original parts came with the car when I bought so I am assuming they are original to car but once again cannot not confirm this 100% since all work was done before I bought it. When I bought the car it ran great but the last time I took it out it ran rough and smoked a little. I am assuming this is due to the old gas. It can still be driven as is but I would recommend draining tank and putting fresh gas in. Interior of car is in decent shape and still has the factory 8 track player in the console. Car will need carpeting and drivers seat has some separation at seams. Will get some pictures of the interior and top of engine this weekend. Now for the most important part of this car. The body is the reason I bought this car. It is super solid underneath and I have taken many pictures to show this. Paint on car is average or below average since it is an older repaint. Only real rust on car is the bottom of both quarter panels and the passenger side front fenders. The rust in these areas is bad and I attribute it to improper body work before repaint. I say this because the lower inner panels are as solid as new and the front fender lower attachment points are also essentially rust free. I have included pictures of the outer and inner quarters. The floors have no rust and the front and back frames and attachment points are as solid as any I have seen. Once again I have included many detailed pictures on the underside of the car. As you can see from the pictures the only rust is on the outer quarters and fenders which is an easy fix. Even the sheet metal under the rear bumper is rust free and this is a common problem area on Trans Am’s. Tires, brakes, gas tank and exhaust were also new on the car 7 years ago. Tires are not dry rotted and have no flat spots since car has been stored on lift in climate controlled building. Once again this is a very solid Trans Am project that could be driven until you are ready to restore it. I have tried to cover the description honestly and thoroughly but if I have not covered something relevant or you need clarification please ask. I will be checking my E-Mail at night to answer questions so please be patient. I am only selling because I have too many projects and not enough time. Please do not bid unless you are serious and have the money to complete the auction. I will not accept bids from bidders who have a history of less than 10 auctions with positive feedback or no activity in the last year. Deposit of $1000.00 via PayPal required within 24 hours of auctions completion. Pick up of car and balance of payment due with 7 days unless other arrangements are agreed to. Balance in cash preferred. If check is used car will not be released until after check has cleared my bank. Car is sold as is and there is no warranty or guarantee expressed or given on this car or the description of it. Please do not make offers to buy it now or trade me something. I am not interested in any trades as I have enough stuff. Auction will run to the end so if you really want it bid accordingly. Shipping is responsibility of buyer but I can assist in loading car with your shipper. More pictures available upon request.
