Vehicle Detail
I'm selling my 1966 Impala Station Wagon It is a 6 passenger wagon that was converted to a 9 passenger wagon prior to my buying it. Drivetrain is a 220HP 283 V8 backed by a 200R automatic transmission and a 10 bolt rear end. It has power steering, power brakes, power tailgate window, Soft Ray tinted glass, a GM compass, roof rack, year correct mag style wheel covers on stock rims and an aftermarket AM FM radio designed to fit in the original mounting space. Again the body is a 6 passenger but someone installed the third seat along with all the correct wiring for the electric tail gate window including a functional power switch at the seat and the interior courtesy light. The only thing that was missing were the rear bumper ends that have the steps which I acquired but never installed. These will come with the car. I will also include extra cargo area side panels as I have one that has the original speaker grille and speaker which can be used as a template if someone wants to add rear speaker. Also, a friend of mine who once owned several loaded 1966 Caprice wagons ran across some power window parts which will be included in the sale. There are a total of 5 mechanisms, two of which still have motors attached. No power switches, mounting bolts nor wiring will be included. The switches and the wiring are easy the find. It's the mechanisms that are rare. This is a super nice car. It starts right up and drives fantastic. It is the car I've used the most for long distance driving but, at the same time, it sits more than it drives because I have too many cars and so I've decided to let it go to someone who can really enjoy it. Current mileage on the odometer is about 44,200 miles. I have no idea how many times it has turned over or what the actual mileage on the drivetrain is. I've had the car for about 6 years and it's never required any major work. The only things that I can think of that don't work are the factory clock and the dome light. The AC works but needs a charge. It has a really nice older repaint in Lemonwood Yellow and an original style black interior. There are a few blemishes in the paint where there is minor rust bubbling near the rear windows (see pics). This isn't a rust bucket. The underside is solid and the body is straight. The interior is in very good condition needing only a new headliner because someone ripped out the back half at some point (Maybe a previous owner added the optional roof rack, but I don't know for sure) It looks like they coated it with POR 15 to protect it from rusting. The front seat was recovered and the pattern matches the second seat but the black medallions that were originally installed are not there (See second seat) I have some from a previous restoration that I will throw in the glovebox. I can say with confidence that this car has been well cared for through the years. It should be noted at this time that this is NOT an original California car. It has spent time in several other states Nebraska, Arizona and Washington I believe. I purchased the car out of Washington State. The black/yellow plates that are assigned to the car are what I added when I bought it. These YOM plates will be included with the sale and they are registered through September 2018. Please feel free to ask questions. This is a NO RESERVE auction so don't bid if you can't buy! Car is being sold "AS IS/ WHERE IS". It is the buyer's responsibility to arrange shipping if not picking the car up in person. I reserve the right to end this auction at anytime in the event I decide to list the car locally.
