Vehicle Detail

Up for a LOW RESERVE auction is a very clean example of one of the rarest Corvair models ever produced. Interesting that this is number 0069 from 1969 of the 521 convertibles manufactured that final and turbulent model year for the Corvair. Well documented, including the original dealer bill of sale stating this was a special order car along with a super rare, hardly ever seen, coupon assigned to its original owner providing a $150 rebate towards the purchase of a new Chevy before 1974. These certificates were sent to all 1969 Corvair owners as GM predicted a tough resale for the last year editions. It was sort of a parting gift. I've only ever seen one of these certificates. This is the second and it goes with this car. Ordered special, this car has some great equipment. First off the owner checked the box for the high output 140 HP 4 carb engine. He then picked the optional Powerglide automatic transmission to go with it (rare combination). He topped it off with a power top, AM/FM radio (fully refurbished) and full tinted glass. I've owned this car for about 5 years and have had a lot of work done to make it and keep it completely reliable. This includes a very recent full brake job, tune up and fluid changes. The bumpers were replaced with Clark's rechromed with a set of NOS bumper guards installed just last Fall. Included is several receipts including one for a full engine rebuilt at the renound Vair Shop owned by Larry Claypool (2004). I should mention here that the engine is a 1965 model and not the original 140 the car was born with. The car starts, runs and performs awesome. I really can't say anything negative about it mechanically. I've been obsessed with keeping it right and turn key. I'd drive it anywhere. The body is good, very good actually but not perfect. Painted the original Frost Green (with a stunning clear coat) back in the 90's, its held up very well with just minor bubbling there and there. The right door and 1/4 shows several small dings and scratches from the prior owners overzealous children getting in and out of Moms station wagon parked next to it in the garage. Most could probably be corrected by a proficient Dent Wizard. They are small and have to be looked at in the right angle to see clearly. The undercarriage shows some signs of past repair not nothing major and looks very professional. Rockers are clean and solid but the rear portion of the left side looks to have had some repairs done to it. The crossmember and trunk floor are very nice. All four corners are decent too. Battery tray and door pillars are also very clean. No bondo as far as I can see. Overall a very high grade driver. Be proud to drive it and show it off. It's full of factory seat belts so don't be afraid to throw the family in it and bring them for ice cream. Just be prepared to talk about your car to bystanders. Please ask questions. Please ask the spouse for permission and please only bid if you are serious. If you have zero feedback, please check with me before bidding. This is a fairly new ebay store for me since I've decided to separate my automotive obsessions from my everyday eBay account. I've been buying and selling on EBay for several years with good results. Bid with confidence. On May-23-18 at 11:17:56 PDT, seller added the following information:
