1992 Porsche 968 Cabriolet This Porsche was purchased new on February 26, 1993 in Walnut Creek, California and since has never left California. There is absolutely no rust on the car which is one of the most significant advantages when buying a classic car. I purchased the car on October 19, 2010 from a friend and since then have not actively used it. Over the course of my ownership, I added less than one thousand miles to this Porsche. Overall, the car is in excellent condition and has been adult and mature driven, never abused. The previous owner spent more than $4000 on the maintenance prior to selling the vehicle to me and according to him pretty much everything on the front end was done. The maintenance was done at special Porsche shop called Kahler's Werkstatt prior to my ownership. About six months ago, I brought the car back to the same shop for the a/c, general check in and a high power battery replacement which was also installed. Total billed, $1400. I never used the convertible top power mechanism. By pushing the switch it does not go down (I haven’t checked the fuse or relay) might just need adjustment. I was told by the mechanic that the motor and cables are good. However, most 968 owners do this process manually which is even more convenient than using the switch. Unlike Mercedes Benz and BMW, the Porsche 968 top is simple and not multi function. Over the years I collected many duplicate 968 parts including parts for the top, mechanical and cosmetic. Not that I needed them however these cars were very limited in production and I chose to buy these parts as a precaution. These parts are not included with this sale but I might decide what to do about them later on towards auction end. I will try not to over explain the car because of strange sets of standards some people may have therefore, please see all pictures and judge for yourself. Number of parking dings are minimal for age and the paint is very shiny..All gauges and lights are fully functional, top is in new condition and the back glass is clear. Interior and carpet as you see are in great shape as well, being a non smoker car is totally odor free also. Clutch is in new condition and no need to say how strong the car is with a six speed transmission. Please be noted that I tried to the best of my ability and knowledge to describe the car properly. Please ask any and all questions you may have before bidding and I will promptly respond to all your inquiries. I respect and value all bidders however I reserve the right to disregard and eliminate any bids I don't believe are legitimate. I have noticed an increase in value of this particular model Porsche and I believe I have been very fair pricing my vehicle considering it’s condition and I would appreciate not to be asked about the reserve price. Comes with two sets of original keys, original books and tool sets. An immediate deposit of $1000 is required upon auction end and the full payment must be made within three days of sale end.
