I bought this last summer on eBay from an elderly couple who couldn't ride anymore with the thought of a return to my old Sport Tourer days. Had a Kawy Concours for years and years. Fix the plastic, some mechanicals, etc., I thought. A quick, cheap ride. But this bike isn't for me. I feel cramped the few times I rode it. Guess I'm just too old n fat.. I'll stay with my cruiser.. This is a 1993 BMW K1100LT.The good..1- Starts right up, idles good, runs good for the 5 miles I rode it.2- Less than a 500 miles on new tires and brakes, according to the previous owner.3- I installed a new battery upon purchase, always on a tender.The not so good..1- Smokes (oil) on start up, another Beemer rider says this happens to these older models from sitting. Cylinder seepage? Dissipates after a minute though.2- Obvious plastic damage, pre-existing to my purchase. Previous owner dropped it a few times. I was going to do a quick fix, so I didn't care. Tried to show damage as best I can.3- Radio doesn't work.4- ABS dash lights flash.5- Drive-line fluid seepage at rear hub, probably from sitting. The better..1- Included in this sale are the maintenance items I purchased for this bike. Except for the oil, these parts were purchased from the Beemer Boneyard and include:A- Complete 12/24K mile Maintenance Kit.B- New Fuel Pump "Tune Up" kit.C- and the oil.. The Rules..Obviously sold AS IS, WHERE IS, no guarantee or warranty, expressed or implied.1- Pick up only, will not deliver anywhere. 2-Title (which is clear and in my name) WILL NOT be signed/notarized or bike released until FULLY PAID FOR and FUNDS CLEARED.. Been there, done that.. Cash is King.3- I work odd hours, so pick up can ONLY be at these times: Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 11:00am and 3:00pm. DON'T CALL AT 2:55pm and say, "15 minutes! I'm only 102 miles away!!". Tough, I leave... Friday and Saturday, all day.4- Ebay auctions are a commitment to buy, not to test drive.5- Test rides, BEFORE AUCTION ENDS, conform to Rule 3, AND require a valid MOTORCYCLE ENDORSEMENT on your license.. AND, I repeat AND.. a $2150 cash deposit..Plus you signing a waiver relieving me of all responsibility if you crash it and die.Heheheh, think I'm kidding? Been there, done that... And yes, it's a Two Thousand One Hundred Fifty dollar deposit, CASH...6- $200 PAYPAL ONLY deposit, within 48 hours of auction end, is NON-REFUNDABLE, so have your permissions (spouse, SO, Mom, parole officer etc) lined up and approved.
