I have for sale a very restorable 1970 GMC HANDI-VAN “SHORTY” I bought it last August with plans to bring it back to life. BUT… my plans have changed so it's FOR SALE to someone who wants a rare shorty van as a project. It’s in Caldwell, Idaho. It is a “roller” with the typical rusty areas at the bottom edges, Pictures show the true condition. I don't try to hide anything. The rest of the body is pretty solid including the floors. All the doors open and close as they should. All the glass is good except for a small crack in the passenger side of the windshield plus one small rock chip. Good 14” rear tires, 14” front tires worn but do hold air. It was originally a Bell Telephone service van, the 6 cylinder motor/ 3 speed trans/radiator were gone before I got it. 1970 was the last year for the straight axle in front riding on leaf springs.Odometer says 23796 but I'm sure it has rolled over.Rear axle is a pickup truck type 12 BOLT, probably a 4.10-1. The seats are there but upholstery is bad. It needs a total restoration but is in better condition than most I have seen, and quite rare these days. LOOK AT THE PHOTOS!
