Suzuki TS 250 1980. Original, unmolested, classic dual sport bike with 2,682 original miles. This motorcycle has a clean title and has never been wrecked or damaged. Since I purchased it four years ago the bike has had suspension upgrades and the engine was recently professionally rebuilt ( The 1980 TS 250 Suzuki is the first year (of two) for the new TS body design with blue body color and is the second to the last year for the 2-stroke street legal bikes to be imported into the US. This engine series was updated by Suzuki in 1978 with reed valve system similar to the PE and RM’s. Engine uses electronic ignition so there is no maintenance. In 1980 longer travel front & rear suspension was added with lay down gas filled rear shocks and with an up-sized fork. This engine is tuned for torque and has very strong & reliable performance. Suzuki engines and drive trains are extremely reliable and long lasting. My investment in getting the engine rebuilt to the highest standards was substantial. The engine was bored to the third oversize piston (.75 mm) with a rebuilt & balanced crankshaft (Crank Works used new Suzuki rod, rod pin & bearings), crank seals, crank bearings & clutch (plates & springs) installed in the engine rebuild. Transmission is in excellent condition and shifts like a new bike – all new main shaft and countershaft bearings were installed. Newer DS carburetor has been installed that improves engine performance along with new intake manifold. Oil injection system works perfectly. Exhaust system is rust free (primed and re-painted) and solid with no repairs and is original except for the muffler- an aftermarket FMF muffler was installed to replace the ruined original muffler (previous owner hollowed it out). Frame is original and undamaged with original paint. Aftermarket rear shocks (Hagon) and the forks are rebuilt. Fork lowers & swingarm were powder coated. Factory chrome wheels are straight and in good shape with new wheel bearings front and rear but have the usual minor rust pitting and scratches with dull spokes. Gas tank is clean inside and out with no rust or dents. Seat is in excellent original condition and the seat pan is rust free. Paint on side covers, gas tank and rear fender is in great shape – front fender has some issues, see photos. All gauges work properly. All cables have been replaced with new Suzuki parts. Electrical system is sound and works as it should. Upgraded headlight to the European style (not sealed beam) with replaceable bulb. Almost new tires (Kenda dual sport), sprockets and O-ring chain. Many original and spare new/NOS parts will go to the new owner. Negatives: front fender has paint missing (see photo), one of the side covers has been repaired but you can’t see repair unless it is removed from bike, there are scratches on paint from normal wear, frame has some minor rust in places, engine paint is corroded and worn in spots & the horn can be weak at times.
