2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD LT 4x4 - Crew Cab - 6.5ft Bed - 6.6L Duramax V8 - 5-Speed Allison 1000 transmission VIN: 1GCHK23275F822742147,xxx miles. This 2005 Chevy Silverado 2500HD comes equipped with the 6.6 liter Duramax V8 turbo-diesel engine and the highly respected Allison 1000 5-speed transmission, as well as 4-wheel drive. The truck is in great shape for its age and mileage. It’s a powerful diesel that sounds great. The air conditioning and heat both blow strong. The motor starts strong every time whether hot or cold outside and has had the oil and filter changed every 3-5k miles throughout its life. The 5-speed transmission shifts smoothly. The electronically switched 4-wheel drive works correctly. It rides and drives great. The truck is completely stock with the exception of a premium exhaust that was installed by the first owner, a trailer controller, and the wheels, which are the slightly larger/wider stock wheels off of a 2006 model (replaced by my dad and I because the aftermarket wheels the first owner had on the truck were exceptionally ugly). Currently running 265 70/R17 tires. It’s been a very dependable truck. Though I am technically the 3rd owner, the 2nd owner was my father who purchased it in 2006 from a Chevrolet dealership in Riverton, UT, so our family has collectively been the 2nd owner since back in 2006. It’s been a great truck for us over the years. Problems/issues -Needs new tires. I figure since it’s a truck and people have some strong opinions with regard to rubber I’d best let you just put your favorite tire on it.Power steering pump has a slow leak and takes a minute to warm up. Groans when cold and needs eventual replacement.One of the belt pulleys on one of the accessories in the serpentine belt train has an audible squeak and needs to be replaced/repaired. This one may only be a 20 minute job but I’m new to the area and don’t have a workshop available to me. I'm 75% sure this is the pulley on the PS pump so will be fixed as a two-birds-with-one-stone type of thing, but when I last replaced the serpentine belt last it was tough to tell. None of the other pulleys showed resistance, but turning the pulley on the PS pump was difficult because its turning the pump.The paint is chipping in several places (pictured). There is NO rust in these spots, but the primer is visible. If this is going to be used in a work environment, this is a cheap spot-fix at a paint shop. If it’s going to be built up into something more premium it would need to be repainted. Paint is original and in the stock color. The realities of 12+ year old GM vehicles.The plastic trim “monobrow” at the front edge of the hood is chipped and may need replacing, as is the case with the Chevy logo on the front grill. Or it could be removed entirely. It’s a 13 year old piece of plastic. Your call. As I’ve said, the truck is mechanically stock and has never been off-roaded or abused. It has been used for very very occasional towing, but never of a weight anywhere close to its limit or in a manner that would be considered “hard towing.” All of the major maintenance items have been done. Oil and filter just changed. This truck runs and drives great. The engine is very strong. I have receipts and records going back to 2006. I also have a 2" drop hitch with a couple different sized balls that you may have if they would be useful to you. Pick-Up/Shipping: If you’re flying into Columbus to pick up the truck (it’s road ready!) I’m happy to pick you up at the airport and do whatever I can to make your travel as easy as possible. If you want to ship the truck you would need to figure that out but I'm happy to drop it off with the transporter and see that it gets off safely. I would prefer that you pick it up/take it away within 3 weeks of auction close, but if you need more time I’m happy to work it out with you.
