PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION IN FULL BEFORE BIDDING- NEEDS REPAIRS For Sale is a used Volvo S80. This is a beautiful luxury car that has needs some love from a transmission tech and a few other repairs/replacements on the vehicle, but would be a great opportunity for a mechanic to fix up and re-sell. The KBB value of this vehicle in 'good' condition is around $8,000. Please note: I am NOT a car mechanic and do NOT claim to be able to legitimately diagnose any mechanical issues with this car. Listed here is a novice description of the car's general state and symptoms. I do not accept responsibility for any misrepresentation of the vehicle's problems and will not accept any returns. First, the good:Very clean, leather interior, with plenty of comfort options.Engine starts and vehicle does shift into gear and drive (for a short time).Awesome sound system, very loud and clear.A/C blows cold.Exterior is in very close to perfect condition, except for the front passenger door, which seems to have a slight cave-in (see pictured close-up) Now, the bad:Transmission begins to slip out of gear after about 5 minutes of driving.During time transmission is slipping, car revs without any power going to drivetrainTransmission will sometimes slip back into gear, but not long after it starts slipping, it will then wind down and no longer able to drive.Seems to have something to do with temperature, as when the engine cools down, it regains the ability to shift.Ride is fairly rough, when I have driven it, I can feel nearly every bump and crack in the road.Tires are mismatched (see profile picture). Will need some replacement tires down the road. Unfortunately I don't have the time or resources to get this car's transmission or other issues in working condition. I am trying to sell it to anyone who can find some value in the chassis, engine and interior. It truly is a beautiful car, the sound from the 281hp T6 engine is fantastic and seems to purr along just fine. It makes me sad that I can't afford to breath life back into it, but I need this car off my hands and as much cash as I can get for it. If you're wondering, (yes) this was an auction purchase, I took a chance on this baby and struck out, but if you are a transmission tech, a Volvo nut, or just somebody with deep pockets who wants to make a buck by flipping it, go right ahead, I just can't afford to put another dime into this thing right now, and I'm just trying to curb my losses.
