Nicely farkled ($4,488 in upgrades!) and well-maintained 2012 BMW F800GS Trophy Edition which was regularly serviced at the dealership (records available) and has only been ridden in the mild climate of Southern California since new. The original owner bought it at BMW of Riverside and used it primarily for a daily freeway commute of 80 miles round-trip. My buddy bought it from him in June of 2016 with 67,071 miles. It was used regularly until 12/15/17 when he experienced cam failure at 77,560 miles. He immediately pulled in the clutch and shut it down. Rather than remove the engine and fix it (he's a very mechanically-savvy aerospace engineer) or spend $2-3k for a used engine on Ebay or elsewhere, he opted to buy his dream bike (a brand new 2018 BMW R1200GSA which he picked up on 12/22/17). The original owner went on a number of BMW of Riverside group rides and had at least one low speed off-road drop on each side. The plastic damage was superficial and is clearly visible in my pictures. The SW-Motech Engine Crash Bars were installed after the drops. This can be a great way for the right person to cost-effectively get into an F800GS. The maintenance history was impeccable right up until the cam failure.
