Vehicle Detail
2004 Honda Dream 50 CB50R - New, Never Started 2004 Honda CB50R Dream. This bike is brand new, never driven and never started (since leaving the factory). Honda built this factory production racer one year only in 2004. Very limited quantities came to U.S. dealers. It was produced in April, 2004. Here's what one website said a few years ago in 2013 about this machine: "Honda has always been one of the world’s best at sub-100cc bikes, from commuter bikes for the people to full on works racers. Over the years, however, the company slowly moved towards bigger bikes in an effort to capture more of an American market that has always been obsessed with power. In 2004, however, Honda released just 440 copies of one of the best 49cc bikes ever made – the Honda CB50R, otherwise known as the Dream. Built as a replica of the 1962 RC110, we think this is one of the most beautiful bikes that’s ever been built. When new, the Honda CB50R cost a hefty $5,499, and had an engine that revved to nearly 14,000rpm, where it produces about 7 horsepower. Weighing just 156 pounds, the bike came with a 6-speed gearbox and all kinds of HRC goodies, including race-spec cams, valve springs and pistons, and a lightweight generator. You don’t get a battery, and there’s no kickstart – the only way to get this beauty fired up is with a bump start. If you want, HRC will also sell you all kinds of hop-up parts straight from their Japanese catalog." This Honda 50 Dream sat on display for 13 years high above the manager's office in a Honda dealership in the Southwest. After looking and dreaming about it for a number of years, I purchased this bike early in 2017. It has been a jewel in my collection of motorcycles but the time has come to pass the bike on to a new appreciative owner. This Dream has lived its entire life in an air conditioned showroom or garage. Honda produced a similar Dream 50 in the late 90's that was not sold here in the U.S. That older version was street legal but not quite as sleek and not as focused to be a legitimate track racer. This 2004 CB50-R Dream has been a collectible motorcycle from day one. The difficult decision for the buyer is to ride and enjoy this little rocket or put it on a pedestal and make it a conversation piece. The nubs are still on the tires, the engine has been turned over but never started. I have a copy of the Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin. This motorcycle has an Arizona title with no liens in my name. I am the original and only owner. Also included is the factory owner's manual / competition handbook. Two Honda "HM" wing decals are still sealed in a package and can be affixed to the fuel tank. I have the "tool kit" that consists of just a spark plug wrench. Two of these Dream 50's sold in January, 2017 at the Mecum motorcycle auction in Las Vegas. Lot #T123 sold for $9,000 +10% buyer's premium and Lot #F51 sold for $10,000 + 10% buyer's premium. Here's your chance to possibly own one for considerably less. This motorcycle is advertised elsewhere for sale. I reserve the right to end this auction early if the reserve has not been met. Shipping is the buyer's responsibility and expense. I will be make myself available to meet with your transporter and assist with loading. Call (480) 201-9049 for more details.
