1999 Volkswagen Passat GLS, 1.8t AEB engine. Details below. Door card upholstery is separating.Driver's side rear window not functioning. QUICK HISTORY:This car came to me non-running.The owner couldn't afford to fix it, so I took it on trade. I discovered it had a bad turbo. Replaced the turbo, and also replaced the head gasket, timing belt and tensioner as a precaution. Reassembled everything BY THE BOOK and it cranked up instantly and ran smooth as silk. I drove it and it drives great, shifts well, comes on boost solidly and the gate opens when it should, etc. Please note: other than driving it a few miles to test the repair, I've not taken it on any trips. Considering its age, the body is remarkably straight. The only true wrinkle is on the front of the hood (pictured). The clear coat has given up on the plastic parts (front and back bumper covers pictured) and slightly on the roof. Otherwise the paint is not too bad at all. This would make a great little track car, or even a daily driver with some cosmetic TLC and new tires.
