Vehicle Detail

For sale is my labor of love. Got this bike as my get "get back into motorcycling" ride a while back. It was 35 years old and I purchased it from the original owner. Bike ran when I got it, but needed all the love she was denied. Ultimately it became my passion to completely refurbish everything that was needed. To make it a perfect running, classic, vintage Japanese bike. As well as correct any cosmetic issues I saw. What resulted is a motorcycle that anybody can hop on and ride away, while drawing a lot of attention for its rarity and beauty. The "T" version of the 80's Suzuki GS line is pretty rare. Suzuki was trying to imitate Triumph's look, whilst maintaining the high build quality of the Universal Japanese Motorcycle. The result was a model that focused on design, and aesthetics. Because of that I took special effort to maintain the original look of the bike during refurbish, to bring it as close to how it looked when it came off the showroom floor, rather than add bits and bobs. Any additions are there to increase handling, and safety, yet look as close to original as possible. ......So what was done? The entire top end was rebuilt including, head gasket, base gasket, rings, valve seats, valve seals, piston rings, pistons were vapor blasted, and entire casing and cylinder array was repainted. Cylinders were honed, head and cylinders were vapor blasted, and repainted. Valve cover gasket replaced. Compression is now even across all cylinders and there is no visible smoke in the exhaust. (See photos) Valves have been adjusted to spec, and carburetors have been cleaned, sync'd and set to original spec. The engine casing was painted. Stator, Ignition, and clutch covers were removed, polished and reinstalled with new gaskets. NOS engine emblems were installed. For safety the brake line was swapped to a steel braided line, the front brake rotor was resurfaced and sintered brake pads were installed up front. System bled and adjusted. Brakes now function better than new. Front end also received new progressive 1.1 fork springs and fork oil. Fork seals are in excellent shape. Front forks also received a Tarozzi fork brace for added stability at high speeds. A new Shinko tubeless tire was installed about 500 miles ago. The front forks were also stripped of clear coat and polished during this procedure. Up top, the bike has a new Daytona cruiser handlebars with weighted grips, "crampbuster" cruising assistant, new throttle cable, new choke lever, 2" bar risers. (Original banana style bars will come with the bike if you want em.) New front brake switch, new OEM front brake handle. The seat was refurbished by Americana Soft Seat including removal of any broken bits, insertion of a gel pad, lowering appr 1" to permit easier reach to the ground, installation of a vapor barrier, and re-installation of the original cover. Seat is now extremely comfy, great on long rides, and should last another 40 years. A new Shinko tubeless tire is on the rear as well, installed same time as the front, both balanced and in perfect working order. Bike will not require tires for 3000+ miles. For safety I removed the antique headlight and installed a JW Speaker Evolution II 8700 series LED Headlight. This is a $400 upgrade on its own and the difference from the stock bulb is mind blowing. Extremely bright and focused, not only at night, but helps you to be seen by oncoming cars during the day as well. The price requested reflects the time and effort that has been put into this motorcycle. This was not a restoration, but a thorough refurbish. The ideal buyer is someone looking for a beautiful, vintage motorcycle that will require no work. The work has all been done, just turn the key, and ride it. 5 miles, or 500. As it is not a restoration, the bike will have some patina, bolt heads are not shiny, a small scratch or chip may be present here or there, but there are no dents, damage, or faults with the structure or materials. Everything is there, and it looks pretty darn great. TERMS: Test rides with cash in hand. Privately held, not a dealer, so viewing by appointment only please. No silly fees or other nonsense here.. Cash only. Paypal deposit refunded if you do not want the bike. Bike is currently titled, insured and registered historic in NJ. Title in hand. Sold "as-is", where is. If you always wanted one of these 30 years ago, well...here it is. Come and get it. UPDATE: 10/16. Addition of the following items: In the past 12 months bike has recieved a New Battery, New Plugs, new Air Filter, Oil Filter, Oil change with Castrol full synthetic motorcycle specific oil. battery tender lead attached to new battery. Head just re-torqued after 500 miles on new rings. New Valve cover gasket installed. 10/28 New Pics added. NOTE: Will also consider trade for Triumph Thunderbird Sport or Tiger 1050.
