Vehicle Detail

This 1957 Tbird looks good and turns heads wherever it goes. It is a "20 footer", however it needs work and could not be considered a daily driver. the paint and chrome are in good condition. The following is provided in the spirit of full disclosure; The interior is fair overall but is in need of restoration. The carpets are new. The brushed stainless on the doors and dash is in good condition. The dash pad is in nice shape. All the badges are present but some are damaged. the leather seat covers are in good condition but the seat foam has deteriorated and needs replacement. The trim panels on the doors and kick panels are in poor condition. The telescopic steering wheel is seized and the Chrome has deteriorated on most of the Interior trim. All of the gauges are present but most do not work due to wiring issues, I believe. The wiring has been patched together over the years and is in need of attention. there is a short in the ignition switch necessitating the starter lead to be disconnected, however the car does start and run if lead is touched to ignition switch terminal to engage the starter. The windshield has a large crack in it as does the driver's side window. The tires are in poor condition. The air cleaner is missing. there is no rear window. The brakes are new but need adjustment. The transmission was rebuilt. I can provide buyer reasonable assistance with shipping. If you have questions please feel free to ask them through the site. There is a reserve on this car that I consider low. Thanks for looking. Tom.On Oct-30-17 at 12:44:02 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional Information in response to some questions. As far as what's missing or broken, to the best of my knowledge everything missing is listed already in the description except; The hardtop has no head liner or trim and, as mentioned is in poor shape. I would replace this if I was going to restore the car but it could be repaired I suppose. This is the only major piece missing. The broken pieces I was referring to are badges and trim pieces. The issue is the mounting pins are broken or missing. One thunderbird fender badge is broken in half but all badges are present... but 60 years old. As you likely know the continental kit is not correct for this year of bird. It was on the car when I bought it installed by a previous owner. It has a chip in it.As stated in the description the car does run and drive...but.. the ignition switch is a problem, it is shorted in the starter circuit. I can start the car and run and drive it by touching the starter lead that is loose to the back ignition switch terminal to engage the starter if the key is in the on position or jump across the solonoid. So the chances that you or the trucker could start and drive car depends on how mechanically inclined you are. Please be aware if you do this the car will start in any gear !!!!Hope this helpsCheers Tom.On Oct-31-17 at 08:02:29 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had questions about the reserve. I just revised it to $7,650 US dollarsThanks for your interestTom
