Overview: Here is an amazing find! It is a very rare 1953 Buick Roadmaster convertible that was a true hidden away barn find. Cars like this rarely come available any more as it is mostly all original with the exception of one repaint over 20 years ago. It was one of only 3,318 built with very few remaining today. You see even less of these then '53 Skylarks, which was based off of the '53 Roadmaster. It was put away in great storage, as it is a very solid, rust free car with all original sheet metal and floors. The car is a 100 percent complete and unmessed with, which is the way you want to find a car like this. It was recently serviced with a rebuilt fuel system, brake system and hydraulic system. The car runs and drives very well and can be used just the way it sits or be restored back to new again. The high book on this car is over $114,000 when restored, so that leaves you with a lot of room. The car has had one repaint over 20 years ago in its original color of Shell Gray. The paint is actually pretty decent for a driver but would need to be redone to be a show car. It has an extremely solid, rust free body with original sheet metal and floor pans. All the body fit is very good also. It has all original chrome and trim on the car that needs to be redone to be perfect again. All the glass looks to be excellent except for one broken side glass in the passenger door. The car is 100% complete and would be a very easy project for someone it they choose to do so. The other option is leaving the car the way it sits as it has great character and you would have a fun driver. Either way this is a great find and excellent investment! Interior: The factory red leather interior is all original and needs to be completely redone. The steering wheel and horn button is near perfect on the car. Amazingly almost everything works in it including the original AM radio, power top, gauges, horn, lights and one power window. The items that don't work are the clock, blower fan, power seat (makes noise, wanting to work) and three of the power windows. The complete hydraulic system was rebuilt at a cost of thousands of dollars. The power windows will work, as it needs just the motors rebuilt. The power top goes up and down great but needs new canvas just from age. It even has its original top boot. Inside the trunk is all-original with its original jack and spare tire. Mechanically: The car runs and drives very well. After taking it out of storage they went through the entire brake system, fuel system, cooling system, rebuilt the carburetor, new battery, new hoses, belts and a complete safety check. We have driven the car around and it is very reliable. The only thing it would need to drive it long distances in a new set of tires, as the ones on it are very old bias ply tires. Under the hood is all stock, original and correct. It even has its original factory markings on the firewall still!
