This is a base model vehicle, with no upgrades or modifications, with the exception of the rims – which are 17” 6-spoke rims from a 2005 Lexus LS430, in a hyper silver finish. Spare also has the same rim (spare is unused). This is a true Southern California car, with an impeccable pedigree. I won’t claim it is a “garage queen” – instead I will call it a “carport princess.” I am the 2nd owner, and I bought this car at my local CarMax. There have been no accidents. Odometer reading is 95,600 miles. HISTORY & MAINTENANCE This is an exceptionally well maintained vehicle. Throughout its life it has been pimped and pampered. It’s been regularly washed and waxed, and thoroughly detailed on a regular basis. All recommended maintenance has been performed on schedule at Lexus dealerships. Recent major service includes replacement of the timing belt and water pump (Oct 2015 at 74K miles), and new front and rear brake pads (Nov 2016 at 88K miles). Dealer maintenance can be confirmed on the Lexus owners web site. New tires were recently installed, in anticipation of this sale. For the first twelve years of its life, this car was owned by a woman in Tustin, CA, who drove very little (6K miles per year), and parked the car in her garage. For the last three years, it has been owned by me, a consulting engineer in San Diego, CA. I’ve driven it about 8K miles each year, and have parked it in my carport. ISSUES There are no mechanical or electrical issues with this car. There are a few cosmetic issues, as follows: · chipped paint – there are some minor chips in the paint, mostly on the front bumper and the front area of the hood. There are also some nicks and minor curb rash on the rims. Most of the nicks and chips have been addressed with touch up paint. · front bumper cover – there is some minor damage, on the lower edge on the drivers side. It is not readily visible. A small chunk is missing. I don’t know how this happened, but the chunk is a clean v-shaped cut, so I suspect I hit some road debris. Bumper repair folks tell me the chunk is too big to patch, and the bumper cover should be replaced – at a cost of about $1200. I told them to pound sand. · audio system – the audio system works great, except there is an annoying buzz in the rear of the vehicle. I don’t know the exact cause, and I don't care. I simply adjusted the sound system to reduce the bass signal to the rear compartment. (BTW, if you are buying this car because of its sound system, you need to have your head checked). WARRANTY This vehicles comes with a comprehensive warranty, with full bumper to bumper coverage. Warranty is provided through CarMax, and is transferrable to the buyer. Warranty is in effect through Feb 2020, or until the odometer reaches 125,000 miles, whichever comes first. Details on the warranty can be found here. TERMS A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required within 24 hours of auction close. The remaining balance can be paid via cash or wire transfer within 7 days. Cash transactions are to be done in the lobby of an established bank, under standard lighting in the early afternoon of a normal business day, in full view of security personnel and cameras. Wire transfer to my bank account can also be arranged. Full payment must be made prior to delivering the keys and the title. LOGISTICS Vehicle is located in San Diego, not far from the downtown area. Seller prefers to sell to a local buyer, but can easily arrange a purchase from an out-of-state buyer. Seller can meet the buyer at the San Diego airport, or the Amtrak station in downtown San Diego. Otherwise, buyer must arrange for shipping. REASON FOR SALE I am selling this car because I bought another Lexus. It’s a newer, younger Lexus, with fewer miles, and an even better pedigree than this one. Truth be told, my new Lexus is not that much better than this one. The design lines on both cars are impeccable, but the colors on the new one are simply to die for, and the rear end is, for lack of a better word . . . sleek. Call me vain, call me disloyal, call me superficial, I really don't care. All I know, I can only afford one car, so this old Lexus has got to go. DISCLAIMER All bull shit aside, this is a 15 year old car. A such, there are bound to be some issues. Yes, I have taken care of the car, and yes, the previous owner took care of the car. As stated earlier, all standard maintenance (and almost all of the service) has been performed by certified Lexus dealers. That service can be confirmed via the Lexus owners web site, and others. Any prospective buyer is assumed to have a reasonable head on their shoulders, and is fully capable of doing basic research. They can assess their personal needs and desires, determine the fair market value of the car, and make an offer. Prior to making an offer, bidders are encouraged to ask questions. Seller promises to respond to all inquires, and to answer any reasonable questions. Seller reserves the right to determine what is – and is not – a reasonable question. Seller also reserves the right to review the feedback profile of any prospective buyer, and to block/reject bids/offers from prospective buyers. Prospective buyers expressly agree to these terms by asking a question or placing a bid. On Oct-03-17 at 19:39:59 PDT, seller added the following information: Included with the sale are 4 keys: 2 smart key fobs with electronic locking (both with working batteries), a standard key fob (rarely used), and a master key blank. Just another little something that conveys the level of detail about the care of this car.
