Vehicle Detail

This is a pampered 1 adult owned 1988 IROC Z-28 Camaro. I bought it from the original owner December of 2016 with the intent to get it back on the road and enjoy it for awhile before selling it to get my next project. Here's how the cars story goes: In 1988 a non smoker(ash tray never used) 30 year old man went to Home Motors Chevrolet in Santa Maria California with the intent of buying a new corvette. When he saw this car he asked to test drive it. Needless to say, he fell in love with it and bought it on the spot( $21,327.33). He has owned it ever since. The car has always been taken extremely good care of. He moved next door to me 11 years ago. I watched him drive it around the first year and saw how he loved and pampered it. I too thought it was a very nice sporty vehicle. The beginning of the second year(10 years ago) the motor started running rough, so he parked it in his back yard under a metal carport with the intent of fixing it later. He purchased a new car and later never came. I like to restore classic cars and every couple years when I was looking for my next project I would ask if he wanted to sell the Camaro. The answer was always no. In November of 2016 he bought a new house and couldn't take the car with him. Finally he gave me the opportunity to buy it! We pulled it out from it's long sleep and pushed it to my house(next door- see pic pulling it out. This is the original black paint covered with a layer of dust ). It went into my garage and came out months later like a new car. Here's a list of things I did to make it the reliable car it had been all it's life: * Turned all rotors(4 wheel disc brakes). Greased bearings. New pads. Fresh brake fluid. *New fuel tank, sending unit, and fuel pump. *New poly urethane bushings on rear sway bar and end links. *Removed intake manifold and installed all new gaskets from there up. *Oil change and complete tune up.( He was using synthetic oil for many years and that's whats in it now. *New BF Goodrich G-Force Sport Comp-2 (245/50ZR16) 16" performance tires on factory rims. *New Battery. *New tail lite bulbs. *New headliner( the headliner went in great. I had to add a small pc of material to fill in the 2 inside corners. not very noticeable. You can't see it sitting in car. *New paint: Car was very straight. The clear coat was coming off in places. I sanded car down to metal and primed it with 2K Urethane primer followed by 3 coats of PPG DCC Single Stage GM Black Acrylic Urethane. This is an above average quality paint and an above average paint job. It isn't a perfect paint job, but you can hold your head high and enjoy the compliments at any cruise in or show! It's smooth, ultra shiny, and will last longer than factory paint. No chips or scratch marks yet! The original owner says it looks nicer than when he bought it. Nice compliment to me! * After the paint cured I did a professional cut and buff on it to really give it the look of quality! *Finally I added the factory door graphics and finished it off with carbon fiber wrap tape(high quality) on the hood louvers and 1 inch stripe on bottom over the original black stripe. I think this was a tasteful detail to finish the car off. Still has it's original GM floor mats and T- Top bag. *Currently insured for $15,000 if totaled. The car is a blast to drive and gets complements always! These cars were made to be a high performance car and this Camaro doesn't disappoint! I have put over 1000 miles on it and not a single issue. The 350 LT-1 engine is clean and there are absolutely no drips under the car ever. Very reliable. Runs great and everything works( see side note). Cold A/C (R134 conversion). Original Delco Bose AM FM cassette player. Cruise control, power locks and windows, power driver seat, tilt wheel, electric antenna, power remote mirrors, factory rear roll in and out privacy tonnue cover. Factory Posi trac rear end for tons of traction. The original owner added a Python alarm and keyless entry system that works well. He also added a built in trickle charger hidden under the hood. Comes with premium locking car cover and wheel locks. Side note: Here's what might be considered negatives but definitely not deal breakers(no surprises here). The rear hatch has a power latch. It works fine, the button in car activates as it should. When I close the rear deck I have to put my finger on the latch mechanism for it to reset. not a big deal and probably easy fix. Next: The arm rests in these cars always puff out. I removed and glued them. I also reattached the vinyl with very thin wire. This has made the arm rests so they will not separate again, but the flat part where your arm rests on is not perfectly flat. Barely noticeable. Lastly: When you start the motor cold it puffs a little blue smoke. It clears up immediately, and only on cold starts. On warm engine startup there is no puff of smoke. I have put over 1000 miles on it and the oil on the dipstick is clean and hasn't went down from the full mark, so it isn't burning oil. The car is also rust free except for the normal surface rust on some of the underside components. The car still has the original space saver tire, and the air canister to fill it. Also comes with a premium locking car cover. I think I forgot to mention how nice the interior is. It's very clean. If your looking for an original low mile unmolested #'s matching Camaro look no further. Car is for sale locally so I may end auction early. My previous auction start price for this car was $11,000. Since I got tons of interest but no bids, I have decided to lower my expectation and the reserve price is lower than that. There is no warranty and I have been as honest and descriptive as possible. Please Please ask questions. $500.00 non refundable pay pal payment upon winning auction. (this is expected and shows serious intent to follow through with purchase). Shipping is buyers responsibility. I can help with loading. Feel confident and fly in and drive her home! Thanks for looking and may the best man or gal win!!! The guy with the white beard is the original owner. He came to see it at a cruise in. The other 2 pictures are of the original purchase paperwork package and a folder with every receipt since new. I will include the purchase paperwork with sale. I will also include much of the receipts in the folder, but I need to leave out things that have his personnel information to protect his privacy. How many 1988 Camaros come with this much documentation!!! ***I was asked to check stickers on doors and rear hatch. All #'s match. *** I paid the $10.99 to check the Auto Check report and it verifies this is a really nice car and confirms what I have told about it! On Sep-12-17 at 10:32:56 PDT, seller added the following information: I paid the $10.99 for the Auto Check Report. It confirms this is a great car with no issues. I will include a complete printout of the report with the folder of reciepts. On Sep-15-17 at 14:23:06 PDT, seller added the following information: I can supply a few under car pic's if requested.(Due to the volume of watchers I can only do this for bidders). Thanks! On Sep-17-17 at 09:03:53 PDT, seller added the following information: Just over 100,000 miles(109,000).
