Vehicle Detail
Great opportunity! Investment in restoration is well beyond current asking price. Make an offer today! 1978 Pontiac W72, numbers matching, Trans Am. The original plan was to restore this gem to original factory build sheet, but life gets in the way! 40,300 original miles, numbers matching, T/A 6.6, W72 Pontiac 400ci Engine (4,139 built this way out of 93,351 manufactured). Automatic Transmission, Power Windows, Cruise Control, Care was taken to bring this back to the original build sheet, Chesterfield Brown exterior, Dk. Camel interior, A/C and Compressor provided, W56 Wheel & Tire Package, 15” Gold Snowflake rims, P225/70R15 raised-lettering tires, Posi-traction.The paint was redone in 2016, by a very reputable restoration shop in Connecticut, back to its sultry, original Chesterfield Brown. All interior, new carpeting, new headliner and seat upholstery has been redone and restored back to its Rock & Roll beauty! (Yes, still original gauges, steering wheel and seatbelts…)This is a head-turner… I can’t go anywhere without thumbs-ups, honks and whistles! All mechanicals work well, including wipers and power seats. All badging and decals replaced through Phoenix if it was necessary. All are 100% correct to 1978 options and build sheet! Restored snowflake rims and beautiful raised lettering tires. The Pontiac 400ci engine was given a bit of love when I got it and it runs beautifully. New hoses, new starter, new alternator, new water pump, new battery, new fluids, etc. Now, this is NOT a concourse competitor. This T/A is a reliable car-cruise night that isn’t winning awards… yet.The engine compartment needs esthetic love. The valve covers are well-sealed but were inexplicably changes to Edelbrock some years ago, and I haven't changed them back. All A/C parts are not connected, though I have them and they are included. The inside of the trunk has never been restored and, while solid, shows its 40 years of age! I chipped the blower carelessly closing the hood.Make a bid, and take the baton on this restoration. Or, just love the car and take in the smiles as you cruise downtown!
