Vehicle Detail

1983 Honda XL600R 17k Original Miles Excellent Condition Up for sale is a beautiful 1983 Honda XL600R. I bought this and decided shortly after I would rather have an electric start instead of kick start. I bought this from the second owner who acquired it from a retired Utilities Manager in Skagit County who used it as his work vehicle to check on power line towers and it didn't go but 500 miles per year thus the low original miles and then was stored in a heated building. So, the original owner was Skagit County in Washington state who purchased it new from Al's Honda and Yamaha of Bellingham Washington. This bike looks like it was in a time capsule. I get massive compliments every time I ride it and people always want to ask questions and talk about it. This is just about as original as you can get besides a new chain, new sprocket, new stator, rectifier, regulator and a new battery but that's it. I have the receipt from the Honda dealer in hand and it was almost $500.00 just a few weeks ago. All parts replaced are "MOOSE" brand which as most motorcycle enthusiasts know are one of the best, and their warranty on their products are second to none. The seat is beautiful with no rip or tears as crazy as that sounds for a 1983. All electronics are in working order including blinkers, all lights, horn and speedometer. The tires are like new just with about 90% tread if I had to guess. The only issue I noticed is it looks like there was a fix to the clutch cable with a zip tie at some point but it works just fine. I was told by the Honda dealer the stator cover has an ear that was broke off at some point that held the clutch cable. I looked online and a used replacement is around $75.00. But as stated clutch works just fine. It also has the original Honda tool kit in the affixed tool box that also has a helmet hook lock. It has what I think is a factory chrome rack on the back fender which is pretty rare. I am 6'2 249lbs and have rode it on the freeway and in town and had no issues whatsoever. It rides straight with no hesitation on the throttle response and no issues shifting into any gear. The front shocks feel nice and tight as well as the front and rear brakes and center shock. If you don't know anything about these big bore bikes you should look them up and read about them. These have been used to literally travel the world due to their reliability, comfort and stability, it is truly unreal for a 1983 model. I wanted a commuter and an electric start is more my style over kick start. I bought this because I always wanted one but the ones I saw were beat up and or worn out and looked like they were through the mill. This one was so unreal and 100% original besides the parts I noted above. But I was a little too anxious because of its amazing condition and didn't consider that electric start is way better for the kind of commuting I do.Tabs are current till July 2018 in Washington state VIDEO OF IT RUNNING https://youtu.be/bPSd8pxfMxQ
