Vehicle Detail
Please Read Entire Description Before Bidding. I am including a very detailed description and high quality photos in hopes to eliminate any surprises. I want you to know exactly what you are bidding on. If you have an EBay Feedback score less than 5, please contact me and let me know that you are a human, and you understand that a bid is a contract. 2006 Triumph Scrambler 2006 is the first year of the Scrambler, and arguably the best. It is the only year for an aluminum finished engine case. All subsequent years have had black painted engine cases (cases, not engine covers). 2006 is also reportedly one of the last years to be made in England. A lot of the trim, bracketry, etc. seems of higher quality on these earlier bikes. The newer models seem to use more stamped steel for gauge mounts and other brackets. I have owned this bike since June 3, 2012. I bought the bike completely stock and in excellent original condition with only 2263 miles on the odometer. I have a young and active family as well as a demanding career that leaves little time for two wheeled adventures. I have decided to put this Scrambler up for sale rather than continue to see it inactive. Under my ownership the bike has received regular service using only the highest quality products. Oil has been synthetic Maxima. I replaced the battery with a new Gel battery spring 2017. Tires are Shinko 705's and they were installed at 3022 miles. Upgrades and Aftermarket bits include:Vintage Honda Scrambler Handlebars - these are originals from the early 1970's and are much more comfortable than the stock handlebars. This did not require longer cables, hoses, etc.Custom leather seat cover with tuck and roll stitching and custom foam - This seat sits slightly higher than stock and is much, much more comfortable than any of the OEM or aftermarket offerings I have tried.Hagon ShocksProgressive Fork SpringsCenter StandAluminum Skid PlateBrighter LED bulbs in indicator lights - (except high beam as it would be too bright at night)Vintage style Gran Turismo gripsHeadlight GrillAftermarket turn signals (plug in)Vintage Style Tail Light - (Bolt on kit required no cutting of wires and bolted to original mounting location) Almost all original parts removed have been retained and are included, as pictured. There have been no mechanical or performance modifications to this bike. It still has the original and unmolested exhaust and mufflers, airbox, air injection, etc. I believe that the engineers at Triumph were pretty bright. The bike runs smoothly and quietly with no dead spots or acceleration problems. The factory air injection does turn the pipes blue and many people remove it, but it creates a hotter burn in the combustion chamber keeping the engine cleaner and reducing pollutants. This is as good as it gets for a carbureted internal combustion engine. This bike has very low miles and runs and rides perfectly. It does however have some imperfections and appearance issues. When I purchased the bike, it had a small and very shallow ding in the right side of the gas tank under the tank badge. It is not easy to see, but is a very shallow crease in the tank a few inches long. There is a light scratch on the right lower fork leg. There are two spots of residue toward the rear of the seat. I have not attempted to remove these as I was fearful of damaging the leather. There is one, of the two, allen bolts for the seat missing. There is some light corrosion here and there on this bike including on the rims, some engine hardware, and a few of the front spokes. Hopefully the photos will show good detail of the bike's condition, the good and the bad. I have just removed the clear coat and polished the engine covers and they look great. Not show quality, but they shine very nicely with no corrosion. I'm not much on cleaning and polishing and a good detail job would make this bike look even better than it does now. I feel like it's a great looking bike, but I want to be sure to point out the negatives that I'm aware of. Overall this bike looks good and is mechanically excellent with some very smart upgrades. I'm confident that these bikes will become classic collectibles in the future and the '06 Scrambler will be a very desirable model. It is the first year for the model, only year without a black engine, and this example is extremely original and intact. The mileage will go up very slightly (not more than 20 miles or so) prior to auction end as I intend to give it one last short ride before selling. I have tried to give a thorough and honest description of this bike, but I'm human and there are possibly details I've missed. Please feel free to ask questions and I will respond as soon as possible. Local inspection is welcome. I'm happy to assist with loading, but shipping, and making shipping arrangements, pricing, etc. is solely the responsibility of the buyer. The motorcycle should be picked up within 14 days of the auction's end. A PayPal Deposit of $500 is required upon the auction's end, and full payment via bank transfer, cashiers check, or cash in person is due within 5 days. I will not accept PayPal for full payment, unless you wish to add 5% to cover the associated fees. Title will be released upon full payment and pickup of the bike. The bike will not be released to a shipper until full payment has cleared. Bidders with zero feedback and/or an Ebay account less than three months old, please contact me with an intent to bid, or otherwise let me know you are human and understand that a bid is a contract. It does cost time, energy, and money to list things on Ebay and non-paying bidders are often those with zero feedback scores or new accounts.
