Vehicle Detail
Here I have a beautiful 85 Honda XL350R. It is a true time capsule, unmolested and stock as it left the Honda factory. I got it from the original owner, he had it stored in his hanger out at the local airport. He used it to run around the airport and go to town. He stopped riding it about 15 years ago but stored it correctly, drained all the gas out of the tank and carbs. He changed the oil and filter, removed the battery and covered it up, storing it in the corner of his hanger. He only put about 5500 miles on it, I put on another 100 it's just so much fun to ride. I have done the following to it.1. Replaced both tires and tubes with Kenda K270, the original ones were pretty dry rotted.2. Changed the oil and filter.3. Replaced spark plug4. Cleaned and oiled the original air filter, it was in perfect shape.5. Adjusted the valves6. Installed new EK O-ring chain7. Serviced the front forks with new oil8. Went through the electrical system, cleaned all connectors, switches with electrical cleaner and reinstalled with dielectric grease.9. Cleaned, lubed and adjusted all cables10. Installed a new Motobat gel battery The frame paint on this is beautiful even under the gas tank and seat. The only issue with the frame paint, it is rubbed off by the left foot peg, very common on all enduros. All plastic is in good shape. The gas tank has NO dents or scratches, the paint is in great shape along with the tank stickers. Inside the tank is rust free. The seat is original and has NO rips or tears. All the electrics work, blinkers, horn, brake light, headlight, high / low beam, neutral and high beam indicators. It starts with 1 kick and runs great from idle to wide open throttle. It hauls my fat butt around at 70 mph. Burns NO oil and leaks NO oil. It even has the original smog controls from 1985. It also has the original gas tank vent adapter that goes into the triple clamp stem. It has all the original aluminum wire ties on the wiring harness. It rides smooth and straight and has never been crashed. These are getting very hard to find especially an unmolested complete and fine running example like this one. If your attempting to re-live your youth and are looking for an XL350R this is the one you want, no issues with it at all and will provide years of trouble free riding. It is currently registered and I have the clear California title.
