Summer is here, up for sale is my beautiful 2003 Mercedes Benz SL500 Convertible. Let me start by saying I really Don't want to sell her but I just don't have enough time to drive her. In the summer we spend most every weekend on the beach with our 4x4's camping. The Benz just sits covered in the driveway. In the last year I only put on a little over 600 miles. This SL500 has the AMG appearance package, a powerful 5.0L V8 with a 5 speed automatic transmission. This car has all the bells and whistles, in dash navigation, 6CD changer, Aux input for an iPod, heated cooled power leather seats, push button start, glass panorama roof, and best of all a hardtop convertible that opens at the touch of a button. Most everything works as it should, cold A/C, great heat. The car being 14 years old does have a few minor door dings, some rock chips in the hood and a small scar on the rear bumper. The drivers side lock button on the door handle is not working but the auto open feature still works. Many of these SL500 have a parasitic draw on the accessory battery, which if the car is not driven regularly can drain the auxiliary battery. This car has 2 batteries one under the hood for starting and the auxiliary battery in the trunk for all the accessories. I have never gotten stuck with the car, if driven on a regular basis you wouldn't even notice the auxiliary battery drain. But if like me you let the car sit for weeks at a time and only drive it once or twice a month then it's best to keep a trickle charger (included) on the battery in the trunk. The car has 97,700 miles on the clock. The guy I bought it from said it spent a lot of time going back and forth to Florida so many of it's miles are highway miles. The car was just inspected. New Yokohama tires with less than 2,000 miles on them. Now I am in no rush to sell, if you are local to Babylon, NY 11706 and wish to take a look evenings after 6:00PM is best.
