Vehicle Detail
This genuine factory Triumph TR8 was a bucket list item for a loving owner who recently passed away. Being sold by the widow of the owner, the car has been sitting unused and ignored for the past three years. The Good Body is excellent. It was media blasted and repaired with metal around 2013. No bondo, no rust. Paint is PPG Deltron basecoat/clearcoat and is in excellent condition. Top is very good. Also has boot cover. Seats, door panels, dash, etc are very good. Carpet is worn Engine runs, has some performance upgrades (heads ported, mild cam, 4 barrel Holley carburetor, headers, Mallory distributor). It needs tuning and detailing. A new uninstalled 4 barrel Holley carb is included. Suspension is very good with solid bushings, adjustable shocks, upgraded sway bars (1" front, 3/4" rear). Roll bar 14" Panasports wheels. The Bad Clutch does not work properly. The master cylinder was recently replaced but did not fix the problem. When the old slave cylinder was removed, it was discovered that the clutch release rod is not properly connected. Engine needs TLC. Old carburetor needs to be replaced with new included Holley. Old paint on aluminum valve covers and air cleaner is peeling. Tire are old and worn Fuel gauge bad. A new one is included. Water temperature gauge is not original. A new correct one is included. No AC No power steering Brake warning light sending unit is broken off and needs to be replaced. Coolant warning light stays on - reason unknown. Console cover is worn. A new cover and mounting hardware is included. Brake rotors show surface rust - unknown if they need to be replaced or will come clean with use. There is slight bubbling in the finish on the black bumpers. Newer radio is installed but not secured properly. On Jul-29-17 at 11:10:33 PDT, seller added the following information: 7/29/17 - Answers to a few questions I have gotten repeatedly: 1) The car cannot be driven because of the clutch issue. It will need to be moved on a rollback or single car trailer. There is no access for larger trailers. 2) I have stated all of the issues with the car that I am aware of. Since it cannot be driven it is possible that there are other undetected issues. If you have concerns about the scope of the project, you are welcome to examine the car before bidding. 3) No - this is NOT a TR7 V8 conversion. The second "V" in the VIN on both ID plates and on the title confirms that it is a factory TR8. Also - I had been told that late owner had the original factory TR8 wheels. I have found the set of 4 wheels. They are in excellent condition and have low mileage Sumitomo 205/60R13 tires mounted, dated coded 2009. Should the high bidder want the set, I will sell them for an additional $500 over the high bid, plus shipping if needed. If the high bidder does not want the set, I will sell them separately at a later date.
