Vehicle Detail
34 year old Jeep CJ 7 Laredo edition, original everything. Extremely well taken care of vehicle. Originally sold in sunny California, and currently garage kept by me. This has been my pride and joy for the past eight years. This exceptional vehicle has the ultra rare inline 4 cylinder "Iron Duke" engine, mated to a five speed manual transmission. Original hard top and steel doors, four original chrome wheels with proper tire size ( spare tire is the original metal ). Power steering, power assisted brakes, tilt column and Laredo edition chrome package and decals. This CJ came to me without a radio and the one currently installed is a Dual AM/FM cassette with a connector so you can plug in an MP3 player. The original metal dash board was not altered in any way ( no cutting to adapt the radio ). Correct age halogen speed lights were installed, also, without any modifications to the chrome bumper. This Jeep has absolutely no rust on the undercarriage ( this is due to it's California origins and the fact that this vehicle is not driven on the winter months or off road ), and the only areas that will need addressing are underneath the roll bar ( please see photos ). The factory paint and decals show minor imperfections but then again, this is a 34 year old vehicle that has never been painted and has been driven around. No accidents whatsoever !!! The upholstery will need to be fixed ( again, please see photos ), but in keeping the originality, remained untouched. There is no carpet to go with his Jeep, and this is due to the fact that Jeeps leak and carpeted areas trap water and humidity and this causes the floor boards to rust and rot ( new owner could treat floor boards with a professional grade rubberized undercoating product that is the correct color, again, I just did not do this to preserve the originality ). About a year ago, the engine was completely disassembled and timing belt, water pump and gaskets were replaced. Every hose, clamp, cable and engine component was checked and replaced, so this Jeep can be driven with confidence anywhere. This has an original carburetor and this remains it's sole weak spot. CJ's are notorious for this and this one idles roughly and takes time to warm it up during the cold months. There are aftermarket carburetors that can be installed but this one remains original under the hood. Fan blower motor does not work and one of the cables ( vent ) is broken. One of the halogen speed lights has a burned bulb and the horn is not operating properly. If reserve price is met, a full soft top will be included ( ultra rare tan SUPERTOP with full two piece doors that has been out of production for over two decades ). This is a collectors Jeep that remains in original condition. IT IS NOT A RESTORED JEEP!! IT IS NOT A SHOWROOM PIECE EITHER!! ( Restored, showroom condition CJ 7 Laredos go for well over thirty thousand dollars, but then again, those belong in living rooms and are never seen on the streets ). You could own a piece of American history, one that will last you for years and years. Next to impossible to get in this original condition, unmodified, unmolested. Clean title in hand. No PayPal accepted ( this only makes the price go higher ). Certified cashiers check or cash in person accepted. I will work with your shipping company and could help deliver the vehicle to them. Bid to own !
