1969 Honda CL450 Scrambler. Original "matching numbers" bike. Frame: CL450-1013673 Engine: CL450E-1013719 Only 46 numbers apart. This is a 1 owner bike!! I have the original clear Michigan TITLE signed off on by the original owner and it was issued "July 25, 1969". Amazing to find an all original CL450 from the original owner. I purchased this motorcycle from his estate, as he is deceased. The bike has been here in Michigan since it was originally sold to him. I am not a mechanic, so, I cannot answer any detail mechanical engine questions but i will do my best to describe what I know. His brother told me that the son had taken the engine out of the bike and was going to dis-assemble it for his high school shop project but that the bike was a good running bike. He got the engine out and the head and jug off and 1 of the pistons out and then realized he was in over his head. I just put the jug and head back on carefully and put the exhaust back on the bike and I only finger-tightened everything. The bottom end looked great to me as it had all the oil in it and the crank was rotating around and the rods were going up and down and the oil appeared very clean. I did not see any debris or shavings or anything. I have included a few pistures so you can see what I mean. The bike is totally complete as far as I know or can see. I hooked up a battery charger to the cables and everything worked, lights, etc.. I forgot to put the kicker back on it but i have it. The tires look excellent. The plug wires feel soft and all the electronic wires and everything appear in their natural unmolested state from what I can see. I have owned a few of thes CL450's so I kinda know what to look for. The brakes work great. I have not installed the chain back on it but I have the chain. I did not put a couple of the end caps on the ends of the cam cover but I have them. I also did not install all of the engine bolts, as I think you will probably pull the motor out and re-do whatever needs done to it. So, the tank is clean inside, the seat is very good, no rust under it at all, and the clutch seems to work fine too. The exhaust is really nice, no rust or holes. Very nice. I don't know what else to tell you except that maybe a good Honda person can revive this little gem back to running again. The bike is located in Onsted, Michigan, 1 hour west of Detroit, Michigan.
