A really nice classic.It's been very well kept. I believe I am the 3rd owner and I have a list of the things that were done to the car by the previous 2 owners.The Great:Very solid, no rust Great runnerDrive it anywhere with confidence.Newer TiresNewer TopNewer muffler, sounds great!Brand new batteryRollbar (can easily be removed)Brand new oil changeMany, many new parts.I have the original chrome bumpers and other bits.The no so great:Speedo stopped working...again....I can promise it has under 80k miles, and the engine was rebuilt in 1986A few paint chips (see photo)A small dent/bend in the fender above the drivers front tire, easily fixable (see photo)The seats have fitted MG covers, I am not even sure of the condition of the original fabric, I have never removed the covers.Missing a few snaps on the cover that covers the top when the top is down.I am not an expert on car restoration, but this car seems to be done right, it has been cared for and stored correctly. I have owned it for 4 years and it has never been parked in the sun and has never seen rain. I moved here recently from Wisconsin, where I only drove it about 100 miles per summer. I had it shipped here from WI professionally last month. It really needs nothing.Please see the list below to see what had all been done by the previous owners.1st Owner:1.Purchased in March 1986 from private party in Wausau2. Titled 3/28/86 - 1972 MG Midget Auto - 2Dr. 4 Speed Manual TransmissionOdometer reading on title 73610-not actual mile- odometer hasbeen changed also-see below c/o new speedometer3. purchased new radio & installed it in March 19864. New brakes installed 4/22/865. New Tires (4) installed 4/23/866. Misc. on MG July 86, included parts and new carpet for full body rebuild7. Body shop work done - whole job- 19868. May 1987- took in for an engine rebuild at Forcom- February 1988 rebuilddone- rebuild was from top to bottom. Clutch was also checked, etc.Speedometer was changed at this time also. New speedometerreads 26700 miles.9. New speedometer reads wrong as does odometer. On the odometer, 1actual mile equals 1.42 miles on the odometer. MPH are off also. Todetermine actual speed that you are driving you must divide the MPH of thespeedometer by 1.42.10. capacity & informationnegative ground electrical system- 1274.86 CC engine displacement- spark plugs: Champion N9Y- Fuel tank 6 Gallons, Engine Oil 7.8 pints ( 3 3/4 Qrts)gear box 2.7 pints- rear axle 2.1 pints-radiator 7 pints.11. 5/31/96 - 32800 miles- changed oil and filter- used 20W50 oil. Changedrear end fluid and transmission fluid. Used synthetic oil in the transmission.Changed brake fluid, flushed radiator. Topped off the oil in the carburetorpistons. Overall check of everything else under the hood seems ok.Checked brakes - pads very good. Front suspension needs work. Probablynew shocks and springs and whatever. Runs great. Emergency parking brake works good. All exterior lights work.12. 10/21/05 Repairs made by shop1. repaired right front tire- went flat2. changes oil and filter3. fixed bolt to exhaust manifold4. Installed new front wheel stud5. repaired brakes: wheel cylinders were replaced-replaced bearings and seals-flushed system fluids - installed DOT 5 brake fluid.13. Replaced all radiator hoses 7/24/082nd Owner:1. Purchased and titled vehicle 5/3/20122. Vehicle is Red with Black bottom stripe..All inside compartments are Red so it is believed to be the original color.3. Condition: Body looks really good , no rust, trunk is completely solid, floor boards very solid, Drivers seat has small tear, floor board carpet needs to be washed, all chrome items are in nice shape4. Odometer now reads 334295. New License plates6. Speedometer replaced again. Found that the replacement that was put in by person before me was for a 1975 and that was why it did not get the right MPH and odometer was off. Bought a used one from E-Bay from a 1972 Midget. Mileage on this one is 63074...after items added below, checked MPH and they are now right. If calculated correctly, the mileage driven before this speedometer was added is: 783487. July - December , 2012*Replaced all tires with new ones from Olson Tire and Auto. Went with:P155/80R13 KUMHO SOLUS KR2 79T*Replaced tie rod ends*Replaced front brake hoses to stainless steel braided*Replaced front rack boots*Replaced front wheel bearings*Replaced passenger side radiator support bracket*Checked front brake pads- look very good-painted front brake housings*Replaced complete A-arm assembly including King pin and swivel arms ( From Riverside Motors, Columbus, OH)*Replaced upper and lower pins for A-arm along with bushings*Replaced Front rubber buffer for shock arm and coil spring*Replaced front coil springs*Replaced Front shocks with rebuilds from World Wide Auto Parts(Madison, WI)*Replaced Exhaust Pipe, muffler, exhaust flange and gasket*Replaced air cleaners with Longflo-round air cleaners*Replaced all three wiper blades*Replaced windshield washer bottler/holder*Replaced strapping under seat, cleaned and painted seat frames.*Added seat covers*Washed and cleaned seat belts*Added seat belt guides*Replaced hub caps and added MG emblems*Replaced brake light switch*Replaced accelerator pedal and linkage*Replaced front grille with a used but beautiful shape grille with logo(e-bay)*Upgraded front tie rod ends with Beck Arnley Tie Rod ends 10/15/2012*Front End Alignment from Wausau Spring and Alignment8. June 2013* Had to replace brake light switch again.* Replaced seat belts.. new seatbelts from Moss Motors* Replaced Hood release latch... parts from Victoria British* Replaced Trunk handle/latch(inside cast pieces broke).. parts from VictoriaBritish9. August 2013* Replaced Alternator, replaced alternator pulley and belt at the same time.10. September 2013* Replaced convertible top. Purchased from Prestige Auto Trim Productions
