These bikes always strike me as at least two generations more modern than my Italian or British bikes of the same age or sometimes younger. It is smooth, durable and dependable. You could build one from scratch with parts here on eBay. This one was built by a retired NASCAR crew chief in his machine shop. The detail is impeccable. He started with a 3000+ mile untouched original and then didn't ride it much if at all before I bought it. I was not looking for one but his work was too beautiful to pass. It now has 8000+ miles on it. I put a couple of 2000 mile long weekends on it and built the 17" front wheel courtesy of Buchanan Wheel rim and SS spokes to match the rear as the builder's original did. It just felt better in the corners. Since nearly everybody over 50 (there's a lot of us) either owned or wanted one of these when it began in 1969 you can't get on or off of it at the curb without answering the questions or sharing the memories. This one will go coast to coast without a whimper. The motor remains stock and untouched. Everything else is new. Please note the subtle touches. Alloy pegs on the custom built swing arm for the stand fabbed for this bike(included). Lots of custom coatings or polished alloy pieces all hand fabricated odds and ends from fairing and steering stabilizer to chain guard, stands and hubs. Hand built ceramic exhaust header and collector. The front fender was built by cutting two and welding to get just what he wanted. Note the two stock Honda front discs. They came with one on the left only. I am advised that you had to know someone at Honda Racing for the hub, forkleg and caliper hardware to do this. All in all I doubt it could be done again for $20K, if at all. The quality of the work is at or above the $20K level. Ride it like you stole it. No reserve.
