Vehicle Detail
relisted with lower buy-it-now,..and lower reserve price..! This auction is for a very nice, nearly all original, 1983 Honda VT500FT Ascot V-twin. The Ascot V-twin was only offered in 1983 / 1984. This Ascot has less than 11,400 miles, and is indeed in exceptional condition, and runs fantastic. This bike has been mostly dry stored all its life. The only non-original parts are the handlebars (Eurosport 500 bars have been installed),...the mirrors, and signals. Tank bag in the pictures is included. The only major imperfection on the paint, is a small, scratched area on the top right side area of fuel tank, under the tank bag (see picture). Fuel tank interior is clean, no rust, and carbs are clean, no varnish or issues. Included with the bike are both original Honda Wing keys,...owners manual,...service manual,...tool set and document pouch. Both tires are a few years old, but very low miles. All lights, gauges, horn, operate as they should. The seat also was professionally recovered about 2 years ago,...matching the original cover fit and look perfectly. Also included are a complete set of decals in the case that someone would want to do a new paint job. Press Reports from 1983 road tests:“Excellent cornering clearance and agile handling encourage sporting romps down your favorite winding roads.”— Cycle, January 1983“The handling is crisp, the controls delightful and the engine responsive beyond its numbers. The Ascot is quick and sure and rewarding.”— Cycle World, August 1983“The Ascot shines on twisty roads, easily keeping up the pace of bikes twice its size.”— Rider, August 1983“The Ascot isn’t confined to life in the fast lane or to patrolling the boulevards. It’s a motorcycle you can live with, rather than live for.”— Cycle Guide, October 1983 ****A $300 PayPal deposit will be required within 48 hours of the close of auction. The balance will be due by wire transfer to my bank, or cash at pick-up. Any other method must be discussed prior to picking up the bike. Shipping arrangements will be solely the responsibility of the buyer,.....I will assist as much as possible on my end.
