Vehicle Detail
1972 Pontiac Grand Prix 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix, 400 V8 and automatic transmission. Runs strong and drives well, good cruiser or project. I picked this up last fall in need of some TLC and did a few things to get it roadworthy. New carb, plugs/wires, motor mounts, fuel line, new flowmaster delta 40s, rear main seal, some under dash wiring, and other odd and ends. The engine has great compression (160/170 all the way around), pulls good oil pressure, and runs really well. Transmission shifts as it should and it cruises just fine on the highway. All glass is good and all lights work. With that said, it's nowhere near perfect: - Interior needs some attention (no radio/rear speakers, needs a headliner, and there are a few rips/tears in the upholstery). - Tires are weather checked and have probably 20% tread. They hold air fine though the front passenger side needs aired up if it sits for more than a week or so. - Somewhere along the line an ignition kill switch was added. - Blower motor works when it wants to. I never worried about it because heat moves through reasonably well when moving. - Rust. Take a look at the pics, but it has rust (hood and front/rear quarters). A previous owner put some POR-15 over a few of the spots but it will need attention. - Windows all work but some need help raising. - Speedometer doesn't work so the title reads non-actual/odometer discrepancy.- Turn signals don't automatically flash when the headlights are on, but you can manually "flash" the turn signals. They work fine with the headlights off. - One of the exhaust hangers broke off so I removed the muffler until I can replace it. Still runs fine, just a little loud. All in all, it's a solid car that's fun to drive as-is. The pics probably make it look a little better cosmetically than it actually is - not trying to talk it down, I just want to be realistic and not create disappointment. Mechanically however, it's solid and ready to roll. I just picked up a new project and can't keep both, so this one has to go. Sold as-is with no warranty expressed or implied. I have described this to the best of my ability but please don't assume anything - ask questions if something is unclear or I didn't mention it. Pick up in Worthington, Ohio 43085 within 7 days of auction's end. I am happy to work with a shipper but all costs and arrangements (including quotes) are the sole responsibility of the buyer. I reserve the right to end the auction early due to local sale. Full payment (cash, cashier's check, or other certified funds) due at time of pick up. Clear Ohio title ready to transfer and I can assist with having it notarized. If you're close and would like to set up a time to see it in person, just let me know. I'm happy to pick up at John Glenn International Airport (Port Columbus/CMH) in the event the buyer would like to fly in and drive home. Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking!
