Have owned this beautiful car for 6 years (I'm the second owner, bought it at 9 K miles). Kept it in immaculate condition and maintained it promptly at a VW dealership. Three weeks ago, it started sounding funny on the way to pick up my daughter from school. Decided it was safer to tow it to the dealership than drive it there. After doing a diagnostic, the dealership told me that the engine timing was off and it had sustained some damage that would warrant a new cylinder head or the cylinder head would need to be repaired. I was also told that the car needs a new water pump. Was going to give the car to my daughter, but have decided to get her something smaller and cheaper, that's why I'm not repairing this one. Sad decision. Apart from this engine trouble, the car is in excellent shape. See pictures. The car is at Jim Ellis VW in Kennesaw (metro Atlanta, GA). The person who won the last auction bailed after the auction ended saying they changed their minds. Please don't waste my time - yours bidding on this, if you're just fooling around. If you bid on this car, know you will come get it from the dealership or arrange for delivery to your location using a service like Uship - or if you're local to Atlanta, that you will get the car on a tow truck. This seems obvious - but I have to point it out. Please don't waste your time or mine if you're not serious.
