Vehicle Detail
This 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer was used by my daughter during high school and early college. The vehicle has been stored on our property for a little over a year without being driven (until last weekend). It's dirty, dusty, and worn, but could make a good local vehicle or teen's first car. The GoodAfter sitting for over a year, the engine started right up (after charging the battery). No know engine problems, except that it burns some oil.173,281 milesTires were newer when stored. (There is a slow leak in the rear passenger tire.)After market stereo with AUX connection. The BadNeeds new front struts - now.Power steering works, but a bit of a squeaking sound when the wheel is turned hard.Burns a bit of oil. Can't tell you how much, but my daughter changed the oil every 3K to 6K miles and was not told by her mechanic that there was any problem.Needs brakes soon.Transmission? We bought the car in 2007 and there has been inconsistent hesitation when shifting into drive. My wife thought it was getting worse. I never felt any difference. When I drove it short distances last weekend, I did not detect any transmission issues. Will there be transmission problems? I have no idea. I mention it in the interest of full disclosure.I think that the heater and AC work fine, but a new external knob and internal gears needed to operate the controls. The UglyDamage (see picture) to front right passenger panel. Does not affect drive.Minor hail damage to roof and hood.Crack in front window.Needs a good interior cleaning. One final note about the struts. The front struts are really shot. If the buyer is local, you should be able to drive the vehicle home or to a mechanic without problem. Out of town buyers - consider towing the car or having it fixed locally before driving any significant distance. Sold AS IS, without warranty. Let me know if you have any questions.
