Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1964 Pontiac GTO, fully documented through PHS as a true GTO. This GTO was ordered from a dealership in Phoenix, AZ in July of 1963 and built in October of 1963. This car has been in my family since late 1990. It was my father's car, and it was his daily driver up until his death. Since 1993 I have been in the process of restoring it when I could afford to do so. Within the past 10 years I have changed or replaced the following: - Took out incorrect Turbo 400 and His/Hers transmission and replaced with correct 4 speed muncie built by Midwest Muncie, with Hurst shifter - Replaced floor and trunk pans - Installed new carpet - Installed all new wiring harnesses and installed correct factory tach - Installed new electric gauges - keeping original warning lights operational as well - Installed correct 1964 ohm fuel sending unit, however gas gauge is still a little sticky, might need a calibration or adjustment - Installed new high torque starter - Installed new 3.36 Posi and balanced driveshaft - Installed front disc brakes off 1971 Judge - Rebuilt 400 - YD motor out of 1969 Catalina - ported/polished heads, new Quadrajet, Ram Air III manifolds with new stainless exhaust, Magna Flow mufflers and splitters. Milage stated is approx. milage after rebuild. The engine currently has an Edelbrock aluminum intake on it, but I do have the original cast iron intake which will go with the car. - New headliner, door weatherstripping, door panels, window regulators and trunk weatherstripping. The GTO is currently sporting a 27 year old single stage paint job in black with black interior. Because the car has been continuously garaged and cared for the single stage job has held up surprisingly well, but is now definitely showing its age. The car was originally a Gulf Stream Aqua car with aqua interior from the factory. I have receipts for all work, as well as pictures. All PHS documentation goes with the car as well as receipts and restoration manuals. Currently in the console built for the electric gauges is an Alpine stereo with Sirius and bluetooth modules. The car also has a Viper alarm. The factory stereo is operational with the factory power antenna. I have decided it is time for me to focus my attentions elsewhere. Since my family has owned this car it has always been garaged and for the last 16 years, been in the southwest. Any extra parts I might have laying around will also be included. If shipping the car, I will work with your shipper to the best of my abilities making their pickup as easy as possible, but all shipping charges are buyer's responsibility. Car was purchased earlier this week through "Buy It Now," but purchaser decided against completing the transaction due to other financial commitments. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
