Up for sale is a low mileage, 2nd owner 88’ Monte Carlo SS. The drivetrain is completely stock and has been recently tuned up with new plugs, wires, distributor, module, coil, fuel pump and rebuilt carb. Car runs good and does not throw any codes. The rear end is the original 10 bolt with 3.73 gears and positraction. The only items that will need attention are (1) the A/C system…the compressor, dryer and orifice tube have been replaced, but it doesn’t hold vacuum, and (2) the mufflers, which should be replaced. The interior is in great shape and looks brand new…no rips or blemishes to speak of. The stock temp gauge does not work, but there is a full set of Auto Meter gauges mounted below the stereo head unit to monitor oil pressure, engine temps and voltage. There is an older Alpine car alarm installed, but it doesn’t work. There is also a competition 12 speaker sound system, which was professionally installed back in the early 90’s at a cost of over $5K (back then). You cannot see any of the speakers, except for the subwoofers in the trunk. The sound system is powered by the original Punch series amps…one 150 and two 75’s. These amps alone are worth $$$. The original white paint is shot and the car should be repainted. There are a couple of small areas with rust, primarily in the trunk channel area on the driver’s side where the quarter panel seam meets the trunk weatherstrip area (see pics). The lower portion of the doors have small amounts of rust as well (see pic). The rims on the car are 15x8 polished Centerline Auto-drags. The car is not perfect and is being sold AS-IS.
