If you are new to looking for a 996, intermediate shaft bearing failures happen commonly (10-20%, depending on the source) in these cars and will require a full rebuild or replacement engine. The LN Engineering bearing is the solution for this. The clutch is usually replaced when doing this and costs $4500. So, you might see cheaper 996s listed.
