Up for auction is a 1971 Pontiac Lemans Sport, with Gto Enduro front end, with 455 engine. the first 5 numbers of the VIN are 23737 (Lemans Sport, 2Dr Hardtop). I would consider this a running project, in need of total restoration including paint and bodywork. Although it runs it IS NOT ROAD WORTHY AT THE PRESENT TIME. It starts , moves in drive and reverse but would need a minimum of new belts, hoses, fluids, tune up, brake work, etc to be road worthy. The Pontiac 455 engine is NOT original to the car. It is a 1974 YX stamped block, 485428 casting number, with 4X heads. The body is in fair condition with some previous bodywork done to it (Not professional). This car has typical rust in all areas that most A Body cars have ( fenders, floors, quarter panels, trunk etc). Both fenders will need lower patches , work has been done to the quarter panels but is not finished very well. Car needs to be repainted. Again this is a 45 year old car that is a project, it is a good starting point with a desirable Gto front end and 455 engine. It looks to be an original Air conditioning car, but there are NO A/C components on the car ( compressor, condenser etc). The interior is in fair condition with an incorrect , but functional console and shifter. This car is sold "AS IS" with NO WARRANTY OR GUARANTEE whatsoever.
