Vehicle Detail
1987 Ford E350 Ambulance Great platform for a camper, work/service truck, promotional vehicle, or ?? 1987 Ford E350 Ambulance with a 460 gas V8 and automatic transmission. Runs and drives great and almost everything works. I've taken it on several long trips without any issues. It started life as an ambulance for a small town in Ohio then became the police department's SWAT wagon, which is when it was painted black. The good:- Excellent running condition- 6 almost new tires- New alternator in the last year- Heat works great- All running, brake, and box lights (interior and exterior) work- Emergency lights, siren, and PA work - no hacked up wiring from removal!- TONS of internal and external locking storage, all with keys- All glass is good - VERY clean frame and underbody The not so good: - Minor rust on drivers side fender and passenger side door (see pics)- Radio doesn't work- AC doesn't work- Some scratches and wear consistent with age- Some weatherstripping is worn - There is still some adhesive on the body from the previous owner's lettering (working on it slowly but surely) I picked this up as a project but it is not exactly a hit at home, so I thought I'd see if anyone else was interested before I get too far into it. It's a really solid truck and was government-maintained until a couple of years ago. Needs nothing mechanically and I don't hesitate to jump in and take it anywhere. Fun to drive and turns heads! I've used it to help move some friends and have had it on several 3-4 hour round trips. She likes gas but other than that, is good to go for a variety of uses. It's titled and registered as a regular vehicle because it has seats/seatbelts in the rear. No guarantee for how other states will look at it but it was an easy process here. Sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied. I'm not a mechanic and have described this to the best of my ability. If you have questions please ask - don't assume if something isn't listed. I'll respond to questions as quickly as I can. Anyone close to the area is more than welcome to come check it out in person. I'm happy to work with a shipper but all arrangements (including quotes) are the sole responsibility of the buyer. Pick up will be in Worthington, Ohio 43085 (about 10 minutes north of Columbus). Truck must be paid for and picked up no later than 7 days after the end of the auction unless other arrangements have been made in advance. I reserve the right to end the auction early due to local sale. Clear Ohio title ready for transfer and I can assist with having it notarized. Thanks for looking! On Nov-21-16 at 19:00:46 PST, seller added the following information: - I've had a few questions about inside height of the box. It's 66 inches floor to ceiling. - I forgot to mention that this is a dual battery setup, one for the engine and a coach battery for the equipment in the box. The engine battery was new about a month ago. - Also lots of questions about driving it home. Obviously I can't offer any guarantees but I wouldn't hesitate to hop in and drive it pretty much anywhere. - One other thing to note, the engine does occasionally "diesel" for 1-2 seconds at shutdown. This is pretty common for gas engines with a lot of idle time and doesn't effect starting/drivability at all. I don't even notice it but wanted to mention it so there aren't any surprises.
