Vehicle Detail
CONTACT JEFF AT 570 977 0741. Up for sale and your consideration is a rare 1960 Ford Galaxie Special Starliner two door hardtop with 59,840 original miles that appears to still have it's original paint. This is a barn find survivor that was formerly a mild custom show car. It has been off the road for some time, but still runs, drives, shifts and stops. To be road worthy I would suggest the buyer check and service the mechnical components. A decision was made to leave the car pretty much as found, as some collectors choose to leave a survivor car alone with the exception of bringing the mechnical components up to par. A real car person is well aware of the rarity, desirability and value of the Ford Starliner which was only produced in 1960 and 1961. My honest summary of this vehicle is based on physical inspection. BODY: Since this car did not spend it's life in Arizona, it does have some typical rust issues that will need to be addressed if the buyer chooses to bring the car to the next level. Front floors, trunk floor and some areas along the stainless trim, lower front fenders, doors, lower quarters behind washboards, and hood. Frame appears to be solid front to rear. As it is nearly impossible to explain every flaw in the body condition in a text, an in person inspection by appointment is welcomed and encouraged to answer any questions that a prospective buyer would have. There are no cracks in the glass, but rear side windows have some milking at the lower rear. Bumpers retain most of their original shine. A custom tube grille was installed which eliminates the center headlights as part of the mild custom theme. Rear bumper is equipped with accessory reflectors that mimick the tail lights. There are no missing emblems or trim. Stainless skirts, lake pipes, and dummy spotlights continue the mild custom period correct theme. Data plate indicates this is an original Raven black (code A) car. DRIVELINE: The car appears to have all of it's original driveline components including the original 352 engine (code X) cruise-o-matic transmission (code 4) and 2:91 to 1 ratio rear differential (code 8). Engine runs smooth with the exception of an exhaust leak at rear of right side exhaust manifold. Engine runs quiet with no lifter, no bearing noise, and no smoke. Exhasut exits through duals with glass packs. The engine is topped with a rare and desirable tri-power setup with three working carburetors. Vintage of the tri-power is unknown, but increases the value of the car considerably. Power steering provides ease of driving. Transmission shifts fine but does make an occasional whining noise while in park (possible linkage adjustment). Brakes are a but spongy but they do work. A new master cylinder was installed. INTERIOR: When the car was customized some time ago, the interior was completely redone in grey naugahyde roll and pleat. Headliner, spare tire cover, and snap on inner trunk lid cover are the same material. All lights and turn signals work fine with the exception of the back up lights. Vacuum wipers work with the typical slow movement. Heater works. Gas gauge and temperature gauges work. Horn and radio do not work. Inside window mouldings were chrome plated some time ago. Dash is pinstriped. Custom dash knobs were installed. Interior shows some age. new black carpeting was installed in the interior and trunk at some point. CONDITIONS OF SALE: Please check my 100% positive feedback and buy with confidence. After reading this entire description and looking over all 24 photos please feel free to call and ask any questions on the car. I have in hand a clean Maryland title with the matching vin# The title was issued in 1996 and shows actual mileage back then of 57,991 miles at that time. So this car was stored more than driven in the last 20 years. It is priced for what it is based on the rarity and value. It's an opportunity to own a rare Ford without breaking the bank. All inpections will take place before the sale and not after. As well as all questions will be answered before the sale and not after. This car is being sold in AS-IS condition with no actual, expressed, implied or written warranty or guarantee of any kind. The day that you buy the car it then becomes your car. Also your geographic location will not change the value of the car. If you need to have the car shipped you will have to take up the shipping charges with your shipper. I will be happy to reasonably assist in the appointment set-up pick-up and oading of the car. The most preferred method of payment is a funds in hand sale and a local pickup of the car. That way you can leave with your car and the title in hand. Any other method of payment will have to be approved by me first before completing the sale. I have done my best to describe this car honestly and to the best of my ability. If I have missed anything at all on this listing, then I again welcome and encourage an in person viewing of the car by appointment to answer any and all questions that any prospective buyer may have. Lastely please don't hesitate to contact JEFF AT 570 977 0741. Thanks and good luck !
