Vehicle Detail
I consider this bike in great condition considering it is a 40+ year old dirt bike. I purchased it in 2003 and have had it on display in a climate controlled office since then. The bike is titled in my name and I will provide the buyer with a signed California Title and also a Bill of Sale. Yesterday I put new pre-mix in it and it started after 5 or so kicks. It has very good compression and I rode it up and down the street a few times. It shifts nicely through all gears. I did notice that it ran a little flat on the top end. Considering that it has not run in 13 years, it may need a new plug, the carburetor may need it's jets cleaned, or the timing might be off slightly. Should you decide to race this bike I would suggest taking the top end apart for inspection of piston and rod bearing free play. I have no reason to believe that anything is wrong with the engine but I am a cautious person making an honest recommendation. In my opinion and as most racers know, the rear shocks are junk and for display only. If you want to race it, they will need replacement. The tank has been restored but has one small ding in it as shown in the photos. Front and rear tires have been replaced. Throttle, clutch, and front brake cables are also new. The down pipe is OEM Honda and is in beautiful shape with only some minor dings as shown in the photos. Although this bike is nice enough to display, it is not a restored bike and I want to be clear about that. Parts have been repainted and some touched up. The tank, fenders, and side panels have been repainted. The frame and swing arm are very straight. The exhaust mount by the kick starter is the only frame repair that I recognize. The bike has many valuable and often missing items such as the original kill switch, chain guide, kick stand, exhaust and pickle silencer. The front plate may be a reproduction but looks like an original. Lastly, some of the hardware is non-standard. This bike is wonderfully complete and is a great candidate for a full restoration. Please feel free to ask questions and I will answer them as best I can. I hope the winning bidder will enjoy it as much as I have. I require a $500 deposit within 48 hours. Balance to be paid by cashier's check or cash if picking up in person. Under no circumstances will I will not release the bike until after the check has cleared my bank. Please do not bid unless you intend to fulfill your obligations as a bidder. I reserve the right to cancel bids from bidders with no history or poor feedback. Thank you and good luck bidding.
