Vehicle Detail

This is a 1970 Honda CB350 twin. Before you scoff at the price for a bike that looks like this, please read the description. The bike has a lot of new parts and engine work and upgrades. This would be a very solid start for a restoration or custom build. All the engine work is done it has a clean title. I've had this bike for a few years. When I got it it had the usual leaky gaskets and knackered cam chain and tensioner. I tore down the motor and installed a KA Performance slipper block tensioner and a Tsubaki Camillia racing cam chain. These are top-shelf parts and these two mods effectively cure the weak link of these bikes. I have another 350 with about 15,000 hard miles on these parts and they still look brand new on teardown. All the gaskets were replaced. I also installed new Mikuni VM30 carbs and Uni air filters. Once the jetting is nailed down on these carbs they offer a real advantage over the problematic stock CV Keihin carbs that never seem to work right. I sort of abandoned this project and I never got the jetting nailed down. Right now the bike fires right up and idles great. It fuels really well until maybe 1/4 throttle, then it drops off. I've also got another set of jetting that ran better overall and made the bike ridable throughout the rev range, it just wasn't perfect. This bike needs very little to be road ready. I just set the valves, gapped the points, and set the ignition timing. The tires and chain are both new, with probably less than 500 miles on them. It has a brand new battery. The gas tank is clean inside and I just rebuilt the fuel petcock with all new Honda parts. Cosmetically the bike isn't great. The chrome is dented and speckled and the tank has some small dents and it's been rattlecanned black (not by me, aaarrrgh!). This bike will still need some fiddling before it's totally ready to go. These older bikes realistically need some fiddling with to keep them running right. That being said, my other CB350 has been an absolutely great bike for many years. It was my daily rider for a long time. But please be prepared to do some fiddling with and detail finishing if you buy this bike. There's usually some electrical gremlins such as some lights not working, etc. on old bikes like this. If you have any questions, please get ahold of me and I'll be happy to answer them. The bike is located outside of Deland, Illinois. It's about 20 miles west of Champaign-Urbana. I'd like a deposit of $300 through PayPal within 48 hours of the auction ending. I can take cash for the remainder of the payment when the bike is picked up. I have a trailer and I'm willing to deliver the bike within 200 miles or so of my house for an additional delivery charge of $1.00 per loaded mile, I'd need the delivery charge paid in full through PayPal prior to the delivery. The delivery charge would be non-refundable. If you'd like to have the bike shipped, you'll need to set up the whole process. I could deliver the bike to the shipper for the same $1.00 per loaded mile delivery fee but they'd have to take it from there. The bike is sold AS-IS, of course. There isn't any warranty. I have the clean title for it in my name in my possession. Thanks for looking.
