1968 Honda Z50a with crf50 engine and original engine - z50 z 50I restored this 1968 Honda z50a from a neglected parts bike. I tried to keep as much of it original as I could, refinishing what I could and buying new or used parts for the rest.Frame, forks, tank and rims were stripped and powder coated.Engine is from a excellent 2006 Honda crf50 with electronic ignition, so this engine doesn't have points.I do have the original engine. The head and cylinder are off, but it's all there. Tires are brand new and in perfect shape.Starts first kick, like a Honda should. The bike isn't a 10 point restoration. It has some nicks and scratches. Some of the powder chipped on the rims. The tank powder isn't perfect but looks pretty good. You can see some of the flaws in the pictures. If you're looking for a perfect restoration, this isn't quite that. It's a very nice bike that can be ridden or displayed. I built it to ride and have fun. I've only ridden it a couple of times though so I'm going to sell it. The original forks were not usable, so I found some used but they didn't work well with the stop on the frame so I drilled and tapped some bolts in to the forks so they wouldn't strike the tank. Bike is in New Lenox, IL and listed on Craigslist, so if it sells locally then I'll take this listing down. I don't want to ship it unless the buyer arranges everything. The 1979 Z50 is also for sale. It will be in its own listing.
