Up for auction is my 1967 VOLKSWAGEN SO42 WESTFALIA POP TOP CAMPER. This camper runs, drives, starts and stops. This is a very desirable and sought after complete SO42 camper. 1967 was the LAST year for the split window body, and first for 12 volt electrics from the factory, making this a hard to find camper. This Camper was found sitting for many years in south Texas. When I found it, it had a crazy 1960's style hippie paint job complete with a 3D sun made of clay attached on to the front nose on top of the VW emblem, as well as a lot of other "artwork" all over the bus. I chose to remove this paint, and artwork to see exactly what was underneath. I decided to leave it like this, so anyone interested could see exactly what body work was needed. I didn't want to have anything "hidden" under paint or bondo. I did leave the custom "Van Gogh stary night" paint on the roof, as I thought it looked cool for the 60's theme. I replaced the master cylinder, and cleaned and bled all the brake lines. This camper also has a new battery, carb, 009 distributer, points, and plugs. The camper will need a rear hinge replaced, but I am including a complete rear hinge assembly with both hinges. It will also need the rear luggage tray patched, or replaced, as it has a few rust holes. (see picture) All in all this is a very solid bus, but will need some attention on the rear corners, and the front nose. Underneath is very solid, and jack points, frame and cross members are very solid.(see pictures) At some point in it's life, the passenger camper windows were replaced with regular glass windows. I do have several sets of louvered camper windows that come with the sale. The pop top will need new canvas, but all the rods and latches are there. (see picture) The interior has all the seats, bed, closets, mirror, fridge, and wood, but due to age and Texas heat, the wood paneling is a bit worn. The headlights, tail lights, horn and wipers all work. I will accept CASH OR CASHIERS CHECK for payment. If paying by check, the check MUST clear before I release the vehicle.
