Up for auction is Super Clean 1970 Monte Carlo SURVIVOR CAR that wears all its ORIGINAL body panels....NON numbers matching 454.. I was told by a few ebay people the car is a true SS car. I have no build sheet,so I cannot be sure either way.I purchased the car who owned and cherished for a long time. He was involved in a motorcycle accident and has to sell the car. He put a lot of money into it.. Rebuilt tall deck big cube pump gas 454 all fresh ..Has new 780 holley carb,HEI ignition,new alternator,hoses,belts,brakes,hooker super comp hedders,new aluminized exhaust,alluminum radiator, Runs cool and STRONG..Rebuilt TH400 with converter. Car front end been rebuilt and has power disc brakes. undercarriage has been cleaned and painted and is SUPER CLEAN!!! The body is extremely clean solid and straight,NO BONDO HERE... Car also had a show quality paint job with all PPG products. Also put a new vinyl top on car and replaced all weatherstripping. Interior is mostly original except for the buckets seats which are from a 73 Monte and are swivel.ar has 8" ralley wheels a with good tires on it.You will not be disappointed . I did however research and found out that 70 and 71 has no distinction in the vin or body tag for SS or non SS except for Canadian cars with x20 code on the body tag or for US cars with x20 on the build sheet. but however there is options to only the SS car like air ride which this car has the holes but might have been removed due to non functioning, 1 1/8" front sway bar which this car has instead of the 15/16, 12 bolt rear which this car has, factory boxed lower control arms which this car has, factory big block motor mounts appear to original and not swapped out, if the car has a center console the wood inlay matches the dash which this car has, and ss454 side trim which appears be original due to the wear not reproduction. now due to the different way to order an SS car with buckets vs bench, console shift vs column, rally wheels vs hub caps, and gauges vs idiot lights it's those options I listed above that lead me to believe that this car is an SS.
