Vehicle Detail

EDIT: I have received a lot of messages about if the sunroof works or not. The sunroof does work properly, opening and closing with no issues at all. Condition: Vehicle ("Miss Katherine" as the original owner named her) was purchased in San Francisco, CA on 11/13/1969 from Redwood Lincoln-Mercury. Has never been driven in snow and was covered and garaged during inclement weather. There is some paint blemishing on the hood of the car due to age. There are two dents in the vehicle. One on the driver's side where the originals owner's wife whacked a fire hydrant while backing up with her door open and another on the passenger side where my dad swiped an organ that was in the storage bay. Vehicle has all original parts including original carburetor. We have original factory parts still in boxes from a closed Lincoln dealership that we purchased. Features: This Lincoln has every feature that was available at the time of purchase. It is the original kelly green color with white vinyl roof. The trunk does not have the Continental badging and never did, as the numbers do match and the trunk has never needed any type of repair nor as the car ever been repainted. Vehicle still has the whitewall tires and all four original tire rims/hubcaps. Interior features include Air Conditioning, white leather seating, green carpeting, original floor mats with Lincoln badging, and walnut inlay on doors and dash that has been meticulously maintained with no drying or cracking. Also features power windows, doors, seats and power sunroof. Has original AM/FM radio which is fully operational as well as the original operating manual that came with purchase. Rear-wheel drive with V-8 engine and cruise control for those long trips. Included with this sale is a wiring diagram manual specifically for the 1970 Mark III. History: Vehicle was purchased by original owner for his Irish wife (hence the less popular green color) in November 1969. Was then passed on to second owner who then sold it to my dad. All lineage is documented via photographs. It was in California until my dad moved at which time it was driven to car shows and garaged it in the winter. We have the original warranty registration form documenting the date of delivery as well as the original Ford Temporary OwnerCard, which also has date of delivery on it with a metal strip containing the VIN. Original keys including the "gold" lincoln key. If you have any questions, I will do my best to answer them. I have listed some pics and will be listing more as I get them scanned. Thank you and we look forward to Miss Katherine finding a new home where she will be well cared for. Even better, while my father owned this car he had some work done to the original parts. He had the air filter cover professionally chromed to make the car sparkle for show. So even with the hood up, this Lincoln shines like no other. Features: This Lincoln has almost every feature that was available at the time of purchase. It is the original optional Ivy Moondust metallic bronze green color with white vinyl roof. The trunk does not have the Continental badging and never did, as the numbers do match and the trunk has never needed any type of repair nor as the car ever been repainted. Every expert we ask is clueless and almost all have said that it was most likely a one of a kind factory mix-up. Vehicle still has the whitewall tires and all four original tire rims/hubcaps. Interior features include Air Conditioning, white leather seating, black (shag) carpeting, original floor mats with Lincoln badging, and walnut inlay on doors and dash that has been meticulously maintained with no drying or cracking. This Lincoln has a power sunroof. Only about 200 Mk IIIs were ever built with the sunroof option. The car has the original (optional) AM/FM radio which is fully operational as well as the original operating manual that came with purchase. Rear-wheel drive with V-8 engine and cruise control for those long trips. Included with this sale is a wiring diagram manual specifically for the 1970 Mark III. The Cartier clock in this Lincoln is still original and functional, although the time is a little bit slow so it needs to be set about once a month. The car is also believed to be equipped with the optional trim package. The complete list of options that this car has are listed as follows:* Power Deck lid* 6 way power seats with manual passenger recline* Power locks* Tilt steering wheel* AM/FM Radio* Michelin Radial tires* Cross country ride package* Leather seat trim* White vinyl roof* Power sunroof* Moondust Metallic paint* Body protection moldingEdit: The hide-away headlights DO WORK. However, there is a pinhole leak in the vacuum hose somewhere. After a few hours one light will open, which we call "winky" then the other opens "blinky." In all seriousness though, this is a very minor problem and because of the way the lights open, it was easy to determine that the vacuum line pinhole is after the hose splits from one line into two lines going to the two lights, so not much testing or replacing would need to be done to fix this small problem. This Lincoln also has many different parts in its trunk. I didn't bother to open up most of the boxes as they were still sealed but here's some of the few things that I saw opened:* Second original Carburetor* Replacement drivers & passengers door side armrest with electrical* Air filter* Original vacuum hosing(there are many more parts but I just didn't want to open the box as to preserve their value.) This car is truly an american classic. It looks gorgeous and with just a small amount of work, this car could be a show stopper. Its truly unique and you will most likely never see another moondust green Mk III on the road with the white vinyl roof. I really do hope that you enjoy this car as much as my father did. I had left the sunroof cracked to help vent warm air to keep the car from heating up and cracking the leather.
