Vehicle Detail
First off this is a HUGE, BIG project car, some may even consider it a parts car. If you are looking for either one then please read on. This is a TRUE 1967 GTO Convertible, both the VIN and the data plate show the 24267 series telling you it is a genuine GM factory built GTO. This is the desirable color combo of Tyrol Blue exterior & Black bucket seat car with the Hurst "His & Hers" Dual Gate shifter. This GTO convertible was a running driving car until it went to a shop for restoration over 10 years ago. It was taken apart, then the owner went thru a divorce & lost interest in it. Sadly many of the boxes of parts from this car were also lost in the divorce. It has been in the same storage unit for the last 10 years patiently awaiting it's rebirth. First the bad: The body is rusted out about as bad as one would expect, the trunk floor is completely gone, the floor pans have many holes from rust, the frame has rust and previous repairs. The doors are rusted. The right rear 1/4 and the trunk weatherstrip lip have been cut off. No interior parts or front clip are included but the original doors, 2 gas tanks, right front inner fender, front & rear bumpers w/brackets are there. The trunk lid is from a '66 GTO. Now the good: This is a #'s matching car! The #'s matching drive line is all there except for the carb. It has the ORIGINAL YS coded 400 engine, the 670 cast heads & TH 400 trans. The original Hurst Dual Gate "His & Hers" shifter is in the car. While it has not been run for several years the engine does turn over freely by hand. The radiator and core support both appear to be in good shape. The original VIN & data plate are both on the car and a clear North Carolina title is in hand ready to be signed over to it's new owner. The parts you see in the pictures is what comes with the car. With the value of #'s matching '67 GTO convertibles always rising and with nearly all of the sheet metal being available in reproduction (including the newly released hardtop quarter panels) this car can be rebuilt and saved. This '67 GTO convertible is sold as is where it sets, the buyer is responsible for pick up and all transportation costs. A $500.00 deposit is due thru paypal within 24 hours of the end of the auction and the balance must be paid in cash before the car or title will be released. Buyer has 10 days after the auction ends to pick this car up. Available for inspection during normal business hours, just contact me to set up an appointment. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time as this is listed for sale locally.
