Since 1997, more than two million Toyota Prius hybrids have been sold and more than 97 percent of them are still on the road. Two electric motors and a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine deliver a combined 134 hp through a final-drive ratio changed from the standard Prius's 3.27:1 to 3.70:1. Estimated combined-driving gas mileage falls from 50 to a still-impressive 42 mpg. A maximum of 34 cubes of stuff will fit behind the second row, and 67 can be accommodated with those seats folded. Extra-long rear doors and a roof raised by 3.3 inches provide ready access to back seats that slide 7.1 inches and fold on a 60/40 split. The second-row backrests adjust 45 degrees. The V's structure is sound, shrewdly tuned dampers do a commendable job of managing body motion, and new dual-path front-strut mounts eliminate some of the standard Prius's impact harshness. Awesome audio sound and bluetooth enabled to take control your phone upon entering the car. Oh, can keep your keys in your pocket with its keyless ignition. Our taxi company only uses Siennas and Prius Vs due to their performance, ability to take tough streets, and for the Prius V especially the gas mileage and 2/3 less stops at the gas station. Our models are also selected based on the vehicle long life expectancy in mileage. This Prius V was put into service as a taxi about 3 years ago and we are liquidating the fleet due to Uber. Taxi companies are harshly regulated forcing them to be roadworthy and damage free by law.
