Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a 2-owner (!!) Classic White 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300CD Turbodiesel with a Blue MB-Tex interior! I have enjoyed this car for five years, and I only recently moved on to a W124 coupe. This car was imported into Houston, TX in 1982 at a suggested retail price of $32,336.00. I have the original build sheet denoting the optional radio and power sunroof. The transmission shifts smoothly, and the engine pulls cheerfully and overtakes other cars on the highway with ease. It starts easily, no matter the weather. The steering has a small dead spot at center. Brakes are responsive and effective; the front rotors, calipers, and pads were replaced in June of 2014 by Liner Tire of Brookline, MA. Other major maintenance -- a new radiator and new rear differential/axles in 2012, a new diesel hand pump in 2013 -- was performed by European Auto Solutions in Waltham, MA. Other work performed in the last five years includes a new blower motor. The original blue MB-Tex interior is in excellent condition. Rear seats are in mint condition, and front seats have only minor cracks. All gauges work. No warning lights. Heat/defrost work. AC does not work. Power front windows work well. Power back windows and power sunroof do not work. Cruise control works above 50 MPH. Original Becker Europa radio works; power antenna does not work. Factory-original first aid kid included. The body is not rust-free, as evident from the pictures. Paint on rocker panels is slightly duller than rest of the car due to a rust repair in 2013. The passenger-side rocker trim is missing. The muffler should be replaced, as should the passenger-side tie rod. In January, I drove this Benz from Boston to Chapel Hill (~750 miles). In February, I drove her from Chapel Hill to DC and back (~550 miles round trip). I would not hesitate to make either of those trips again. This car is a delight to drive. I am happy to provide additional pictures or answer questions. I am also happy to arrange a pre-purchase inspection for serious bidders. Buyer is responsible for inspection and shipping. No warranties expressed or implied. Item is for sale locally; I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. $500 due within 48 hours of auction close. The balance is due within a week of auction close.
