The vehicle will start, but needs work done before it can be driven very far. The repairs cannot be done on location (must be towed/transported). The car has no warranty and the buyer will assume all repair/transportation costs after purchase. The vehicle has functioned as a commuter between home and work for the last 13 years. It's had regular oil changes and maintenance, and has a polished Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system. The interior has leather seats and a 7-speaker Infinity sound system with a 6-disc changer. The engine is a 210 horsepower 3.0 V6 with a 4-speed Sportronic automatic transmission. The vehicle was diagnosed as needing a new alternator & battery after it experienced a low voltage situation causing the tachometer to function erratically and the vehicle to idle high & shift hard triggering the "service engine" light to activate. The mechanic felt like this was the root of the issue, but couldn't do any further analysis until those items were replaced. In the past 18 months it has had the following repairs completed:Replaced valve cover gasketsNew beltsNew main drive pulleyNew mass air sensorReplaced an O2 sensorReplaced an engine mountNew spark plugs & wiresTo my knowledge these items need to be repaired/replaced:AlternatorNew batteryPower steering pump (works, but groans and is difficult to steer when sitting still)Exhaust heat shield needs to be welded in place (rattles at start-up and under acceleration)Seal around AC drain needs to be replaced (occasionally seeps water onto floor under heavy AC use)Replace broken drivers side foglight (purchased, part included in sale)This model of vehicle is known to have a few factory flaws, this one suffers from a fractured dashboard (pictured) and noisy door locks (common flaws in this model series). The emergency brake alert light & battery light stay on and are a result of the bad alternator.
