Vehicle Detail
For sale- Kermie, an automatic 1975 BMW 2002 with many new and spare parts, including a spare engine with attached manual transmission and carburetor. The Cons- the undercarriage is extremely rusty. The rust has not made it through to the cabin however, just the unibody on the underside and the lower parts of all body panels. Under the carpeting the floor is solid. The engine currently runs, but the intake valve on the #1 cylinder is leaky and the rings aren't sealing. The original heater and air conditioner have been removed and replaced with a smaller heater. There is a small ding in the windshield and some cracks on the interior dash -see photos. The driver's seat is torn, but both front seats are covered in light green sheep skin BMW seat covers. Finally, the clock and odometer have stopped working on the instrument panel. (last odometer reading 84k) The Pros- recent work done: balanced wheels & remounted tires, new exhaust manifold & flange gaskets, muffler & exhaust, thermostat, tie rods, control arms & bushings w/ alignment, front & rear brakes, battery, plugs & wires, ignition coil, fuel line, electronic ignition installed, fuel filter and alternator belt. The sale will include a spare engine, manual transmission and carburetor-these have not been tested, but were part of the package when I bought the car and have been in dry storage ever since, an original jack, spare wheel and tire and some misc small spare parts. There are no leaks to the cabin or trunk area, so the original interior is still very nice for it's age. The hand crank sunroof is stiff, but still works nicely and all windows move up and down easily. Kermie was my daily driver for years and is still a good car, but the engine work combined with the body work is too much for me. I know there are more adventures to be had with this car and it's many good parts. Please look closely at all photos and feel free to contact me with questions. Thanks for looking!
